Inside, there are 768 steps leading up the tower.

I made my way up, step by step, feeling the burn in my legs and the slow shift in perspective as the city of Ulm got smaller below me. I reached well over 500 steps — roughly two thirds of the climb — only to discover something unexpected.

The very top section was closed.

No summit view. No final stretch. Just a stop point that wasn’t part of the plan.
