How to Grow Your Business Online: 8 Steps to Success
Today, I'd like to share some simple tips about how to grow your business online. This information will benefit network marketers, affiliate marketers, and internet marketers.
This subject confuses a lot of people, so my goal is to make it as simple as possible.
If you are trying to grow your business online, here are the 8 steps you want to follow:
- Determine your target market
- Determine your USP
- Set Up Your Sales Funnel
- Build Your Email List
- Send Traffic to Your Website
- Build a Relationship with Your List
- Tweak, Improve & Repeat
The first step is to determine WHO your target market is. This is the most critical step in this process. Never fall in love with a product or service. Pick your target market FIRST and then decide what you will sell them.
If everyone is a prospect, no one is a prospect. Spend some time to decide who you want to sell to. For example, my target market is network marketers.
Next, you must determine your USP. This is known as your unique selling proposition. In other words, what makes you different? Why should people do business with you and not with someone else? If you don't know WHY people should do business with you, they won't know either.
As an example, my USP is:
"I am the No B.S. Network Marketer. I tell it like it is without using hype!"
The third step is to set up your sales funnel. Your sales funnel includes your capture page and auto-responder. Your sales funnel allows you to capture leads and build your email list. It manages your leads and sends out emails to your leads on your behalf, so you don't have to do it manually.
As people visit your capture page and provide their name and email, they become a lead, and they start receiving your emails automatically.
A good sales funnel will have 10-20 pre-written emails. Your goal is to communicate with your leads at least 3 to 5 times weekly. If possible, sending daily emails is ideal.
Once your sales funnel is set up, you can start sending traffic to your capture page. This is where most people fall short. You must have a solid advertising budget to do this right. I am not a fan of free traffic because organic traffic takes tons of work and time to pan out. Paid advertising is quicker, and much more effective.
Yes, you will need to invest money. It's a business. All businesses advertise.
As people visit your website and become a lead, your next step is to build a relationship with them. This takes time and does not happen overnight.
People like to do business with people they like, know, and trust. You already know that. You want to communicate with your leads several times per week and provide VALUE. Educate, teach and inspire them about what you are offering.
Do not make every email one big sale pitch. Instead, just include your link in the P.S. line. The average person will need minimum 7 to 20 follow-ups before they buy or join. Your goal is to be a person of value and build up the like, know, and trust over a period of time, normally several months or longer.
Your next step is to MONETIZE your email list. Once you have a list, and you have a good relationship with the people on your email list, you can start recommending your products and services to them. You can recommend different things THEY will be interested in. Because you have built up a like, know, and trust factor, you will get sales.
Your final step is to tweak, test, and improve everything you do. Keep testing different advertising sources. Test different ad copy. Test different emails and capture pages. Sometimes, even a small change can pay huge dividends.
In conclusion, this is how you grow your business online. It doesn't matter if it's network marketing, affiliate marketing, make money online, or anything else. What I suggest you do is take each one of these steps and learn more about it. A good place to start is YOUTUBE. There are tutorial videos on each one of these subjects, if you search for it.
