The Internet has changed how the world markets, and how we promote ourselves. It's true that there are many advantages to marketing using a website.
Using web 2.0 tools like email and social media allows you to market to both buyers and sellers who use the same tools as you do. Online marketing is a much broader arena than it was in the past.
For example, let's take Canada as an example. Everyone in Canada wants to know about how to get more customers in Canada. In Canada, there are many business-oriented websites such as Qualaroo or Arborsguide, but most of these sites are focused on a particular industry.
Let's use Canada as an example again. What if I were to focus on website marketing and I wanted to target the Canadian buyers in search engine optimization (SEO)?
I could promote my website and direct my marketing efforts towards the US market (Canada) and then increase my Canadian web traffic by building my own SEO practices. This is a great way to grow your business.
We can't leave out those in Canada. Those in Canada have been left out in the cold because the bigger search engines haven't focused on Canada in the past.
When I say, "we" I mean all the marketers out there in Canada. You can get yourself noticed by launching a targeted website marketing campaign.
You'll want to create an identity and an image for yourself. Don't just sell products, but tell a story. Tell people why they should use your product.
If your story doesn't get your point across, your product will go ignored. Think about the search engines and how the Google page rank is determined. Google ranks pages based on their keyword content, which includes text alone.
Think about how the "Google X" story works. They use web content that isn't about selling Google products but instead presents the value. By working with articles, content, and
videos that work together to explain the product or service in the best way possible, it's hard to not see the connection.
Also, don't forget to put a link on each page to an "About" page that mentions you or talks about the company in the body of the text. Of course, if your company is Google or one of
the other big search engines, you may not even need an "About" page. But, if your goal is to gain traffic and build a better reputation for your company and product, having an
About" page will go a long way in ensuring that people will remember your name and know what you do.
How to get more customers in Canada is possible, and the market is large and competitive. You can get noticed with an informative website and your story. Be proactive in your marketing by linking with your market and build a relationship that creates trust.
