Is it a job or is it an investment?

So what is the difference between a job and investment? A job is where you trade hours for dollars. You show up at a designated workplace and perform required duties. You are told when you need to be there and when you can take a break. If you fail to fulfill management's expectations you will be replaced.

On the other hand an investment is something you do for which you hope to get a specific return. Some people may invest in a large TV. If you value your time a television is a very expensive investment. Many people invest in a college education, only to find that when they graduate and have a huge student loan and there is no guarantee of a job.

There are many people who are in business for themselves that invest in their business. It is very easy to become a slave to your business.

I believe the most important thing that you can invest in is yourself! It is been said that if you want more you must become more. I am not aware of any six-figure income job  that does not require you to develop special skills.

Studies have shown that 70% of the people would love to have their own business and be their own boss but fear of rejection and fear of failure prevent them from moving forward. There are literally millions of people whice are held hostage to self sabotaging beliefs and false beliefs. Mark Twain once said"it is much easier to fool somebody the first time that it is to convince them that they been fooled"this is so true.

Those who control our educational system strive to instill an employee and consumer mindset. Those who control or healthcare system are seldom interested in finding a cure but rather focus on treating symptoms to make you a long-term patient.

If a person is willing to ascertain their limiting beliefs or self sabotaging beliefs and is willing to make the appropriate changes there is no limit to what that investment can be worth. It is critical to understand that we are a whole being as a unit: physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually(your belief system). What impacts one area affects the whole being.
