My Journey so far...........

I was first introduced to Network Marketing back in 2002 and was immediately 'hooked', sadly my time with that company was short lived and lasted only a couple of years. I often regretted walking away, however I also vowed that if I ever joined again, be it the same or a different company, I wouldn't treat my downline/team the way I was treated..........but that's a story for another day!

I have now been with Oriflame Cosmetics for a year and I absolutely love it! I've been promoted to Group Manager and have built a great team of consultants, the support from my Sponsor and upline is second to none.

I wasn't actually looking to join another network marketing company, in fact it was the furthest thing from my mind! I had been on the email list of the top earner at my previous company and received an email from him informing me the old company had folded and he'd joined a new one. I was intrigued to find out more and so messaged him, to be honest when he told me it was Oriflame my initial response was WHO? I had never heard of them!! I mentioned it to my wife and she had heard of them, however she thought they had gone years ago! Needless to say Oriflame is still relatively unknown in the UK and Ireland (50th birthday next year!) which really appealed to me as the scope for growth and building a business is so exciting.

So, there I was, a brand new consultant with some knowledge of network marketing but knowing very little of Oriflame, my advice to anyone is to research the company you are thinking of joining, find out about it's compensation plan, products, marketing materials etc. I was fortunate in that I knew and trusted my sponsor so was happy with what he was telling me. Following his advice I immediately went about finding customers and recruiting some team members. 

I wrote down my goals that I wanted to achieve with Oriflame, the main one was reaching the level of Group Manager within my first year, I achieved it after just 5 months! My first year has gone better than I expected, my biggest challenge has to be the frustration, the frustration of prospects saying they will join but don't, or they do join but never get started!! why do they do that? Helping people in my team to overcome their frustrations has certainly helped me to get to grips with mine.

I am now not only progressing towards my new goals but also helping the people in my team achieve theirs too, which gives me immense satisfaction.

This is the first time I have ever written/submitted anything like this and I hope it won't be the last! Thank you for reading it and I hope you enjoyed it.
