Hi, I am Kate. I am a full time mum to 3 beautiful children and started working as an ambassador for Darcey's candles in January when I had to give up my previous career to focus on my kids and their health needs. This decision has honestly been the best I've made because I am now building my own business through social media channels and word of mouth. The business works around my family commitments, I can take the children to school and am at home for them at the end of the day. I am my own boss so don't have to ask for permission to go to all those special moments like school assemblies, sports day, gymnastics competitions (and the list goes on!). I can take holiday when I want to, take the day off, spend school holidays doing fun things! I think the most important thing to consider when you start this kind of business is whether you are passionate about the products. The Darcey's products are very easy to get passionate about! We have a wide variety of products from soy wax vegan friendly candles, wax melts, reed diffusers etc plus body lotions, shower gels, perfumes etc. I have found that once customers try them they always come back and purchase more, because the quality is superb and the fragrance choice is extensive. I don't have a sales background, I am actually an accountant by trade, but if I can do this so can you! There is a fab support network within the business, at the top levels but also within my team who are a group of like minded girls who are building their own businesses too. We always help each other out and share ideas for promotions and special offers and encourage each other to get out of our comfort zones and push ourselves to achieve. I can honestly say that I have made some amazing friends on this journey so far and look forward to making more. I run my business through social media, word of mouth and online parties, but hopefully will be able to have face to face parties at some point soon!
