Wave season: It's the period during the year-January to March-that cruise lines and other suppliers break out their best deals for travelers. Travelers are thinking about their spring and summer vacations and are snapping up these deals like crazy. It's the biggest booking season for travel agents, and as a new travel agent, you will definitely want to be prepared to accept and process all of those quote requests that are coming in.

The number one tip is to start your business now. If you want to get paid to book travel and have been on the fence about getting started, it's time. You will have 4 months to get your business up and running, the training completed (it's all provided at no extra charge!), and market yourself. You'll need to let people know the value of a travel agent and why they should pick you over the big box travel sites or just booking themselves with the suppliers.
