Legal Representation for All

One of the many rights that we have in the United States is the right to counsel which is stated in the 6th amendment in the Constitution.  However for many years, having access to adequate legal protection has been seen has a privilege for only the rich or the wealthy, but for the vast majority of our society having proper access to the legal system and to lawyers is just unheard of.  This thought really puzzled me because even though everyone has the right to legal counsel; only a few of our society is truly using this right to their advantage.  So I ask this question, why do you think there are more people in our society that don't have access to the legal system knowing that they have this right?  

The right to counsel is a known and practiced right like so many of the other rights that is stated in the Constitution, for example the freedom of speech.  When you think about the freedom of speech, we can voice our opinion and say what we want because this is a right that we possess, and many people in our society use this right. However when it comes to the right to counsel many people don't use this right to their benefit. So to answer the question that was asked earlier, why do you think there are more people in our society that don't have access to the legal system knowing that they have this right? The answer to that question is affordability.  Many people simply are not able to financially afford having legal counsel to represent them whenever they need or want them to, and honestly this is a philosophy that needs to change because having access to the legal system should not be determine by the amount of green that you have in your wallet or by how many dollar signs you have in your bank account.  It shouldn't matter what background, ethnicity, or lifestyle that you have because having the right to counsel is a freedom for all no matter who you are.  For the people that don't have the proper access to the legal system, many times their rights are violated, and they experience many injustices.  This is simply not fair or right.  I myself understand that it is important to know my rights but it is even more important that I have legal representation to execute my rights.  So that is why I am a member of Legalshield.  I have had to use Legalshield services in so many ways, and it has helped me out in a lot of legal situations both big and small.  It has truly empowered me, and I want to be able to provide the same for others because everyone deserves to have legal representation.  So I am on a mission to let everyone know about this amazing membership with Legalshield, so that they too can be protected and empowered.
