Just follow the system
When the path to success has been opened for others to follow, why do so many still try to create a new one? One reason, I surmise, is that we all have our preferred ways of doing things – which is great! Yet, when your way of doing something keeps you from achieving the goal, why not follow the proven path to success?
I’ve been in network marketing for many years. Never achieving the pinnacle of success that I dreamt of each time I joined a new organization, I realized many organizations later “why.” I took my own path and did it my way. I always had an excuse about this or that or that and this and, with each excuse, I always found another excuse to get out of the organization. I couldn’t seem to buckle down and just follow the system. Sure, at the beginning, I did everything as instructed by the leaders and saw results. Yet, when the results began to slow down, so did I.
When another opportunity arose that sounded better, I’d jump on that band wagon. How was I ever going to really achieve success in network marketing? I wasn’t … not until I stopped and decided to stick with the successful systems of the organization. I had to want to win in network marketing as much as I wanted to win in my martial art training and business. I had to accept that, no matter what industry I worked in, following a proven simple system was the path to success.
Even though I saw the success of each organization’s leaders, I was too impatient to follow the systems consistently. Frustrated, I took a break from network marketing for a few years. After the break, a new opportunity was shared with me. This one “felt” different or maybe I was different. Maybe now I was more coachable, willing to listen and do as the leaders had done consistently. I decided this time to ‘just follow the system’ and commit to the grind. I am a strong believer in multiple streams of income, so I decided this go-round to stay the course - follow the system.
So, what’s the proven, simple system to building an organization? These three basic steps that I’ve found common within all the organizations that I’ve been involved:
#1. Ask the qualifying question (which has several variations)
#2. Share the product/opportunity
#3. Make a 3-way call with your up-line
These three simple steps performed consistently is what has helped to bring my leaders and others to the top. Of course, there's some additional work necessary to succeed, but these three steps help to garner and secure the many prospects that you'll need to grow your organization. You think I get it now? You bet I do! My current progress – success - is proof that I am now ready, better prepared, and willing to stay the course to achieve the success I seek within this organization.
The system works – just follow it!
