The Power of THANK YOU
The words THANK YOU are very powerful on their own but when accompanied with a gesture of appreciation it is magnified to visions beyond belief.
So few people say THANK YOU today for what others do.
Go to a drive thru and how many times to people say PLEASE & THANK YOU. I catch myself often telling them it would sound so much better if they were to use those two little words as it would make their customers feel appreciated.
In any business you will not move forward if it were not for those buying what you offer or seeing the opportunity you are offering, WHY NOT say thank you to them in a special way – a $200 gift card.
Take online marketing for example how many times do you say THANK YOU to your team?
How many times do you thank those who listened to your presentation? I mean in a very special way.
Here is a gesture of appreciation when you want to promote your business, tell people they will receive a $200 gift card for attending your presentation or for becoming an active member of your business. How many people do you think would want to hear what your business is about? Or you could give your team members a gift card if they reached a certain level in a month. Use your imagination to encourage people to step outside of their comfort zone. Sometimes people need encouragement to try a little harder to reach what they may think is impossible.
Companies are forever doing contests with prizes such as new cars, trips. Do you think they pay full price for these of course they don’t as it is free advertising for the manufacturer and/or the dealership.
You are doing no different, you are just showing your appreciation for prospective customers/team member and for less than 25 cents per card. You can afford to have some that don’t want to listen but you will be surprised to find out how many do listen when you tell them that at the end of your presentation they can see Susan at the table at the back of the room for their card. Then at the end of the presentation you again say Thanks and remind them to pick up their cards after you invite them to talk to you about their future with the company.
When they registered you got their name and contact information so you can stay in touch. You want to ask them how they like their gift card.
I like to use this scenario as an example of how you can use the gift cards to grown your business.
A cabdriver was looking for a way to increase his referral business. He figured if he put his info on a clear label and put that on the back of the GoodLife card he could give them out to all his customers a a THANK YOU. In doing so they would call him back when they needed a ride and would refer him to others too. The cards cost 20 cents each. What would also happen is he would get paid 50% on what was spend on each card. People like the cards so much they asked him how to get more so he told them to sign up preferably as a gold member so they could get 50 free cards and as a result they would get paid when they handed out cards as he did.
He did 2 things, built up his cab referral business at the same time he built up his GoodLife business.
