Our spare time...How we use it is huge in terms of success
Proverbs 23:12 - "Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge."
Time is always a hard thing to come by. I was talking to a friend today about the business and he mostly wanted to wait until his kids were out of school and he had more time before he committed anything.
I didn't blame him completely and I told him I understood, but he is not understanding what can be done when we use our spare time in a good way. I mean even small pockets of spare time, as far as that goes.
I will not pretend to tell you that I always use every minute of my spare time as wisely as i should. I will tell you, though, that I try to catch myself wasting my spare time and think about an income producing activity that I need to do.
Mindless television can be a huge thief of success. Am I saying to never watch television? Of course not. I watch college football (Roll Tide) and my family watches movies. I am saying, though, that to let it occupy almost all of our spare time is costing us in a huge way.
We can have mentors without ever having met them. They are on youtube videos, websites, blogs, and plenty of other forms of communication like podcasts. We can glean a HUGE amount of knowledge from them on how they built their businesses using their spare time.
Robert Kiyosaki was the first mentor that I never met that introduced me to the idea that our use of our spare time dictates our success. We can use the spare time to increase our communication skills, or to make a few more calls to begin educating people on our business, or listen to something to motivate us for a little while in case we had a discouraging day.
Doing these things is called investing in ourselves to make our lives better both today and in the future. Watching very much television is called spending our time that we can't get back again. Either way, we can't get the time back, so why not make our future better.
