It's not about the destination, it's about the journey
You are always going to come across doubters.
You are always going to come across people who don't respect what you do. People who don't respect the drive you have.
You are always going to come across people who will try to tear you down, try to humiliate you, try to sabotage you and everything you strive for.
The question is are you going to give into it?
Are you going to quit just because someone said something mean?
There are 2 reasons why people try tearing you down:
(1) Most people are actually scared of looking themselves in the mirror and challenging themselves, so they feel that challenging someone else would make them feel better
(2) They are jealous as you are succeeding in something in which they used to do but then quit before the real work came along
Everyone expects an easy result, but nothing is ever going to be easy.
If it's easy then you're not trying hard enough. It's not about the destination, it's about the journey
When I first got started with my company, I was working almost full time at a cinema, I also started studying at a drama school and then balancing my business also.
I'm not going to lie it was very hard for me at first as first of all it was completely new to me so I had to develop my skills and learn and not only that there were somedays where I was working late shifts at work finishing at 2/3 am in the morning and then having to get up early enough to travel to drama school. After drama school, I'll work a bit on my business and then had to go to work for another late shift.
I remember another time my phone was stolen at work by a customer which had quite a bit of important info and contacts. The next day I was meant to go to an event in which my guest bailed on me and I couldn't make it because there was no way for me to know where I was going or be able to contact anyone. I was using my old phone but I had to wait for my new sim to activate before I was able to contact anyone, meanwhile I would of been incredibly late as EE took its time giving me the sim in store. The only way to contact anyone was to head home in order that I could contact my mentor. I remember I was walking down the road upset and I felt like crying as I knew how much these events are important to me. A member of my team also quit the business the day after although he was in for 2 days so I felt a bit like my time was wasted on trying to help him.
It was difficult at the time, I came across criticism and I have also come across other setbacks but I kept my mindset strong as I knew that something better was to come. Now my team is expanding nationally and internationally. I've developed, I've improved. Also I no longer work at that crappy cinema job.
The beauty of this company that I am apart of is that it has changed me as a person, you also don't need to recruit to make money, the main source of income is actually from the products! Most people in this company actually remain as customers and have the potential to make more money than those who are business owners also. That's incredible and that's what attracted me to it! It appeals to everyone!
Yet again it's not about the destination its about the journey and that's how you discover and improve yourself
