This one thing can save you from disaster

Just the other day I did a live video about owning your platform.

Today I heard that FB is not allowing videos to be downloaded anymore.

I was getting into doing live videos on FB even though I know I don't own the platform and everything can be destroyed in minutes.

All it takes is a decision made by someone else and my entire library of work goes right down the drain.

That's no way to run a business if you ask me.

What are you going to do?

Are you going to continue to post all of your hard work in places where it could disappear overnight?

I've seen several well-known marketers shut down on YouTube because one whiner complained.

It's been possible for some of them to get their accounts back, but is it worth it?

How much money did they lose while their accounts were offline?

Social media sites are a great place to find people.

But I think the faster you can move them off social media to a site you control, the better off you'll be.

That means you're gonna have to pay for your hosting... for your blog, your videos and your audios.

You can still get shut down by a hosting company, but it's far less likely.

If you want total control, you can run your own server (it's not as hard as it sounds).

I'm moving all of my activity to membership sites and other places I control.

Not only will I be able to decide who has access to my content, I'll be free from worry that a single complaint will shut down my business.

If someone complains I can simply thank them for their time and show them the door.

Easy for them to leave, and much less stress for me because they can't affect my livelihood.

When it comes to marketing, your email / client list is one of your most valuable assets.

It's the list of people who are interested in what you have to sell and love hearing from you.

Even if you decide not to take control of all of your other online assets, be sure you control this one.

Your client list will be like gold if disaster strikes and your social media or ad accounts get shut down.

You'll still be able to communicate with the people who love you most.

So build your email list as big as you can as fast as you can.
