What I'd Do If I Lost Everything

Hey, what is up? It's time for another video in the drizzly rain, and today I'm going to talk to you about what I would do if I lost everything, had to start over, and had to make money within 30 days. And I'll tell you why...

Because I got an email from a somewhat well-known goo-rue who deals in internet marketing, and he said this is what he would do. And as I do lots of times, I'm going to rip into this because I think it's a load of crap. I think the guy knows that he wouldn't do what he's saying he would do, and the reason he says it is because, well, wow, "There's a webinar coming up that I want you to be on, and I'm going to have a guest on. He's an expert funnel, builder and all this, and I'm going to make money selling an affiliate link to the funnel builder."

This is my contention. Or maybe he's selling the other guy's program on how to build funnels. It doesn't matter.

Here's the thing. If you're starting out in any market, at any time, whether you've had no money or you've had $1 million and lost it, the first thing you're going to do is pick a market.

You're not going to build a funnel, because let me see. Let me go start building a funnel. Okay, what's the headline going to be? Well, I don't know. Who am I talking to? Well, there you go. That's why you don't build a funnel before you know who you're talking to. Because if you want to take someone through a process of, this is what I have, this is what you're interested in, and this is who I am, and this is what I've got, and this is what it'll do for you, and this is why you need to get it right now, and all that stuff.

If you're going to do that, you have to know who you're talking to.

As a matter of fact, 40 to 50% maybe even more of your entire marketing gig is going to be based on that market. Because everything depends on it. You have to speak to them in their language. You have to talk about their hopes, their dreams, their fears, their failures. You have to know this person and how to speak to them in order to best show them how you can assist them in getting what they want.

All starts with the market, and after that, guess what? The next thing after that is the offer. If you are talking to the right people, and you have an offer that people simply cannot refuse, your copy can suck. Your funnel can be bad. You could do almost eveything wrong and you're still going to sell.

You're still going to sell, because you are talking to someone who desperately wants what you've got, and then you juice it up so that it's so attractive, and then you take away the risk. They don't have to risk anything. If they don't like it, they can get their money back or whatever. Are kidding me? They're in!

So to say, "The first thing I would do is build a funnel," is provably wrong by anyone who knows anything about marketing.

And I'll tell you right now, that's why I don't like the, "what I would do if I lost everything." The only the second to that, or maybe it's sort of the same thing is, "what's working now" because that's a load of crap too. Everything works all the time. It does. If Google went out of business, okay, adwords wouldn't work anymore, and if Facebook decided not to run ads anymore then they wouldn't work anymore.

But for the most part, when people are talking about what's working now, it's because they're using something that's working for them. They have a different market, they have a different group they're talking to, they're using different funnels, different ways of speaking with them. They have different offers.

None of it has anything to do with what you're doing right now.

So if I say I am selling a weight loss supplement and this is what's working for me right now, even if you're in the weight loss market, it's doubtful that exactly what they're doing is going to work for you, because you're not talking to their audience. Got It? You're talking to your own.

So if you keep watching these videos, I'll share with you these insights that I happen to know from more than decade online.

I've worked in high level coaching programs, coaching people who've made upwards of 10 grand a month. I worked behind the scenes at 8 and 10 figure Internet companies, doing things for them. I understand how the business works, and I understand why people put stuff out, like "what I'd do if I lost everything" cause it's exciting.

It's what people want to know, and they believe that it's gonna give them an edge. Whether it will or not is ultimately going to be up to them.

Stay tuned for more tips like this. And understand the first thing. Everything you do starts with your market.

If I did lose everything, I'd start over following this plan.

That's what I got for today. I'll talk to you tomorrow. I'm out.
