What to Look for when Joining a Network Marketing Company

Too often in this industry people will jump into a company with out doing their due diligence, therefore resulting in a failure and then blaming the industry for their failure.  So for people looking to join a company lets talk about some factors you should consider.

Number 1- Leadership, first and foremost.  Without proper leadership it doesn't matter how good your product is, it will fail.  Make sure you align yourself with someone who has been in the industry before and is respected and trustworthy.

Number 2- Products.  The products must be good and you must also believe in them.  You should also be a customer of your product.  If you have any reservations about your products, in the end it will show and you will not be successful.  Period.

Number 3- Timing.  You can't build a successful business built on hype of timing, but it's huge factor when looking for a company.  There are many great legacy companies out there, but it doesn't mean you can join and make the income you would like.  After 10 years or so they will become very saturated for one to rise to the top.  Conversely, joining a company in the first year is also risky.  Most will fail within this period so you much be careful.  Make sure the leadership is established and you may have a winner early.  70% of income will be earned by the distributors that come in the first 3 years with the highest chance of duplication.  Years 4-10 will experience good growth, but a higher rejection.

Number 4- Great Compensation plan.  How many  ways does your company pay?  If its not more than 5 you may want to research others.  Do you get check match?  How many generations?  What about compression?  What does it pay per cycle?  Is it Uni-level or Binary?  Do you know the difference?  If you only know one way have you researched deeply the other to see what is better?  Or did you just take someones word because that's what they say?  Is there leadership bonuses?  Just a couple things you should be aware of before joining.

Number 5- A business school taught by people who have navigated the waters before. This may actually be number 1. Many times leadership in a team is not great. People are not guided through the good AND the bad times. Having a group of people closely linked helping each other is something you don't see very often. If you are seeing 5-10% retention, you don't have the right leaders in place to help you be successful.

Number 6- Does your company give back to a worth cause?  Who is benefiting from the success other than the people in the company.  How are they changing the world?  In some eyes this could be moved up several spots.

Some people may disagree or want to add to this list and I think that's great, but if you are thinking about joining a company keep these factors in mind.  This industry is not on trial, but too often people fail because they are not aligned correctly.    If you feel like discussing the industry I welcome all conversations.   Good luck to all, we are in the best industy in the world, when done correctly.
