Finding time to exercise....get a little creative

We are all very busy people.  Sometimes we convince ourselves we are so busy we don't have time to exercise at all.  Let's rethink that.

I am speaking from my experience of being too inconsistent with exercise.  I am also speaking from a standpoint of trying to correct that.

My current schedule is working four days per week, ten hours per day (4-10's) with some scattered over time on Fridays at times.  I also work in another state, so I travel to my job and go home on weekends.

Now, I work nights so I am a day sleeper.  I typically go straight to bed when I get off work and get up in the afternoon to start my day.

I tell you all this to let you know that my schedule is somewhat hectic, just like many people.  So, if we want to exercise at all, we have to fight the desire to make an excuse.  We have to do at least a little bit in order to stay healthy.

I will typically get up and give my self a few minutes to wake up, eat something light like a fruit cup, and then start by doing a set of twenty five reps of the running man.  The running man is when you get down as if you are doing a push up but you basically run in place from a push up position.

I am actually doing this as i write this article.  I am doing a set and then writing a paragraph, going back and forth.  At this point, I have done seven sets of twenty five reps.  I am doing eight total sets of these before I move to push ups.

So, I will do something that needs to be done.  Take a quick pause and do a set of the running man until I am finished and then do the same thing with push ups.

I have begun doing this every other day.  There are some results I want to achieve.  The work is hard but I like seeing results I want slowly happening.

You can work out using your own body this way and do what works for you.  My mother has simply walked at a brisk pace for about 30 min a few times per week for her exercise.  My dad likes to swim a few days per week.

Doing something for at least ten to thirty minutes per day at least three times per week will help you stay healthy physically and will help prevent being down mentally.  We are able to solve more problems when we get blood flowing and exercise as often as possible.  We think more clearly.

Our outlook on life is simply better when we are exercising in whatever form works best for us.

i am writing this article as much for me as for anybody who is reading.  I have always gone in and out of exercise routines and have been known to go too many days without any exercise.

Then I look in the mirror and I know i have let myself down, so I make myself get back at it.  So, I find that doing at least a little bit each day helps me with the mental part of the motivation I need.  I should say every other day.

For me, pushing myself a little bit every other day gives me the ability to relax on the days off (the day in between) and I know I will be back at it the next day.

I do try to not let myself go more than three days without exercise if possible.  Sometimes we do get incredibly busy.  The good thing about the running man exercise and push ups is that we can do them anywhere.

If you can only do one push up, then do one.  The next day, or the day after, do two.  We all get stronger as we go.  Any small milestone like that is something to be proud of.

Thanks for reading all the way to the end of this.  Reach out to me if you would like to do a live video call.  We can talk about anything you want to talk about.

Enjoy your day
