Is Social Media working for you or are you working for it?
It is so easy to start spamming. You are excited about your business opportunity and you want to share it with the world. You set up a Facebook page or group, and you contact friends and family to like & share. Everyone you meet you ask them to like and share. The whole purpose of all socIal media traffic is to get people to like and share. But is this translating into sales?
Without realising our profile becomes full of offers, ads, opportunities for people to buy, join or host. The only intention we have is to turn the conversation around to promote your business. STOP!
It’s been said before, but I’ll say it again. This sort of social media traffic will not get sales or engagement.
In MLM businesses, relationship building is the key. People will buy into you first, before they buy your product.
Make genuine connections. Share genuine posts about yourself and your priorities. You don’t have to share too much personal stuff, but a brief comment about who you are is good.
Sharing why you are doing what you are, what you believe in and your mission statement is key.
Facebook and other social media doesn’t just need adverts. That’s the way to turn people away. Create engaging posts that promote dialogue. This allows people to get to know you and vice versa.
Use the social media that is best for you. You don’t have to be on everything. What is your target market? What do they use? There’s no point being on tic toc if your market isn’t. You could spend hours to achieve nothing. Decide what you want to achieve from your social media.
Early in, I made the mistake of joining every group out there. Spamming the social media with buy me now posts, join me, become a host posts did they work? No. Not one. Why didn’t they work? All I was interested in was me. I wasn’t interested in what others thought. I didn’t engage with them I went in for the sale straight away. Now I’m not saying don’t join groups. But I am saying join the right groups. Lifestyle groups that meet your target audience. Discussion groups that share your values. Be genuine. Share your passion, not your product.
When people feel they have a relationship with you, they have built trust, then the sales, the hosts, the recruits will follow. So stop spamming and start engaging.
The end sale is not the end goal, a one off sale does not build a business, but return customers do.
