On December 21, 2006 after coming home from a business meeting, I was pulled over for a tail light bulb out on my car. I was less than 1 mile from my house when this happened. Well as fate would have it, the officer was a fellow Sunday School Classmate from church. He immediately recognized me but since he had called my plates in, he had to run my Drivers License & Insurance Check. Now he's been known to be a jokester & has often played with his cuffs in the hallways at church b/c he always comes in uniform. He came back to the car spinning his cuffs where they make the clicking/ratcheting noise. I asked him is everything okay because he had a serious look on his face. He asked me to step out of my vehicle & look him in the eyes while he asked me the following questions:

Officer: Have you ever been to the following states?

Officer: New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington

Me: No Sir to all 5 states.

Officer: Umm, we have a small problem. There are 47 felony & 82 misdemeanor warrants out for your arrest in the following states: AZ, NM, CA, OR, WA. Why would this be?

Me: It can't be because I've never been West of Texas.

Officer: Your Drivers License has

Me: It must be Drivers License Identity Theft, may I call my Law Firm to report my Identity Theft Claim since you probably want to question, detain or arrest me, right? I showed him my Legal Shield member card.

Officer: Wait a minute, you mean like the plan you offered my family and myself back in November?

Me: exactly the same service

Officer: yes, I want to see how they work in a time like this.

Me: I called Legal Shield Hotline @ 10:32pm and spoke to an attorney @ 10:33pm. I then proceeded to explain to the attorney what the officer told me.

Attorney: Is the officer present?

Me: yes Ma'am!

Attorney: Can you place the phone on speaker phone so I can speak to you both?Me: Yes ma'am! You're on speaker phone. Go ahead.

Attorney: (To the officer), may I have the name of your department, address, city, state, zip, your chief's name, your name, badge #, precinct #, phone # & what county you are located in?

Officer: Wow! Yes Ma'am! (He then proceeded to give her all the information she requested.)

Attorney: My client, Mr. Carlisle, is telling me that he was at work or at home in Texas with his family when all of these alleged felonies & misdemeanor warrants were issued & and we strongly believe we can prove this if you will give us until the Tuesday morning 9am after Christmas on 12/26/06. Hold the line for just a moment, I'm going to conference the other 5 law firms so you can let them know which felonies/misdemeanors are in their respective states so they can get this cleaned up asap. Hold the line.

6 Attorneys on the phone now: NM, AZ, CA, OR, WA, & TX Attorney mediating the conference call.

TX Attorney: (to officer) Will you take each states citations and let each Attorney from each state know which citations are showing?

Officer to each attorney by state: he named off all the felonies/misdemeanors by code/statute/state & type

TX attorney: (to the officer) Is that all?

Officer: yes ma'am

TX Attorney: (to the other 5 law firms) My office will be in touch with your office in the morning to discuss the findings and let's get as much of this cleared up over the weekend, because Mr. Carlisle has to report to the Police Department and meet with the chief & officer present.

5 Attorneys: Yes Ma'am & goodbye

*Just the TX Attorney back on the line w/Officer & myself now on speakerphone.

Officer: Previously, I was advised by my supervisor to bring him in, however, I know Mr. Carlisle personally from Sunday School Class. I've been to Mr. Carlisle's home, I know where he works. I don't see him as a flight risk. I will speak to everyone in my agency & notify the Sheriff's Department & State Police & make a report NOT TO ARREST Mr. Carlisle if stopped during a traffic stop regarding the previous 129 citations (47 felonies +82 misdemeanors)

Attorney: Very Well, someone from my office will be contacting your chief in the morning, please make sure he's expecting our call from the Law Office of Provider Firm. Mr. Carlisle is one of our #1 clients & we wanted him treated respectfully & thanks for this courtesy of not arresting Mr. Carlisle.

Attorney: Mr. Carlisle, please behave yourself, get that tail light fixed, stay in contact with the officer, someone from the law firm will contact you after 8:30am tomorrow morning & we'll forward your case to Identity Theft Provider to begin Identity Theft Database searches looking for any additional information that might cause your identity to be in jeopardy. We will be working on your case through the holidays. Enjoy the time with your family & be safe. Please prepare to report other the Police Department on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 @ 9:00 am. The call you receive tomorrow will be from the local Houston Provider Firm. We'll assign a local attorney to call you tomorrow to discuss our findings & to also meet you on Tuesday & work with you until this is all resolved.

Attorney: (to the officer), does this meet your satisfaction & your superiors satisfaction?

Officer: Yes Ma'am!

Attorney: Both of you have a great night & Have a Merry Christmas!

Officer/Me: yes Ma'am!

Attorney: Thank You for calling Provider Firm, your LegalShield Provider Firm. Goodbye!

Attorney hangs up & so do I.

Officer: (first words to me) WOW! They do all that for you?

Me: Yes Sir! I've been a member since 1999. They provide this excellent service to me every time I have an issue regardless of the severity. No matter how big or small.

Officer: I sure am glad you talked my wife & I into signing up in November. I want to introduce you to my Chief of Police on Tuesday, we'll work with your, I mean, Our Law Firm on getting this resolved. Do you know how the other officers of the department can get signed up for this? Because after tonight, I'll never cancel this service. Tonight was enough for me to never be without this service. You never know when your issue could become my issue & I need the sane level of service. I'll refer people to you from all over. I'm glad it was me who stopped you tonight. God really was watching over you. Everyone else would have arrested you then let you call your law firm.

Me: Thanks for trusting me and I won't let you down.

Officer: Here's your Drivers License & Insurance Card Back, go get that light fixed tomorrow so you don't get any unnecessary stops. Don't leave town, not even to Houston, stay in town where you have us to look out for you. Please don't make me regret letting you go home for Christmas.

Me: Yes Sir! Thanks again! Goodnight!

Results: Met Chief of Police/Officer on Tuesday at Police Station along w/Provider Attorney. I sat in the chiefs office while he spoke to my attorney in another room. I chatted with my officer friend about Christmas activities and such. My 2nd child was just born on 11/29/06 so I was home enjoying spending time with him and my then 3 year old daughter.

Chief: The Chief comes back in, shakes my hand, and says, We need to talk about these services you have, b/c the officer (your friend) won't shut up about what all the Law Firms have done for you. In all my 25 years of law enforcement, I have never known an attorney to answer the phone after 5pm, but I've been on the phone with 6 different law firms that were working on your behalf plus an investigator from Identity Theft Provider company came in on Friday 12/22/06 for a little chat about your case. My whole department knows about you and your case. We want the same plan you have, when can you come sign all of us up?

Me: As soon as you would like, would this afternoon through the rest of the week & next week be enough time to enroll everyone?

Chief: TODAY, I'm fringing this for every officer and putting this in their retirement benefits also. Amazing, completely amazing. How does a 26 year old afford all of this?

Me: It's a small monthly fee for the entire family.

Chief: See you this afternoon, I'll have most of my staff present, a few are on vacation, we'll get to them next week.

Me: Okay Chief, see you later. This was a 100+ member police department that became a full fringe group account.

I didn't spend one night in jail or was not falsely arrested either (47 felonies, 82 misdemeanors in 5 states I had never been to prior to 2007: NM, AZ, CA, OR, WA), update since then, another 13 felony cases cleared and another 18 misdemeanor cases cleared. Was I worried, Nope, because, My company's Services are so undervalued but provide so much PEACE OF MIND.
