What is Your Purpose?


This question “What is your purpose?” has been coming to me during the day while I’m loading the dishwasher and even in my dreams at night. I’m not surprised that I’m asking myself this question during the day because I figure a lot of people are, especially now during this worldwide coronavirus crisis. 


But in my dreams? I wake up startled and can’t believe that I was trying to answer this question while I was asleep! “What does that mean?”, I ask myself. Why am I so concerned about the meaning of my life that I am dreaming about it? “My subconscious must be working overtime; I need to relax more”, I think. 


I think…”I know I think too much”. I came to this conclusion when I was watching a show called “Rewired: Introduction to Your Brain” by Dr. Joe Dispenza. He said that we have thousands of thoughts every day and that our thoughts are mostly subconscious. We’ve been “programmed'' that way ever since we were born. That shocked me! “OMG, that means that I have thousands of negative thoughts to get rid of...how do I do that?”, I asked myself.


Then, he said the only way to change our negative thoughts wasn’t by trying to get rid of them consciously but by “rewiring” our brain. “How do I do that?”, I wondered. He explained that the most effective way to get rid of negative thoughts is through meditation because that’s a good way of going into the subconscious. I thought, “I need to meditate more then!”


Listening to what he had to say was really a “light bulb” moment for me. I don’t know if it makes any sense to you but it makes sense to me. I’ve been getting up in the morning to start each 

day with my “Miracle Morning” routine. I drink my health drink, read something inspirational, and then meditate for a few minutes. I listen to meditation music while I’m getting breakfast ready.

But, I still haven’t been able to get rid of all the negative thoughts that could be holding me back from reaching my life’s purpose. 


So, I guess I need to “rewire” my brain, by going into my subconscious with meditation, absorb positive thoughts and energy, and let my brain “rewire” itself with new connections and synapses. New Idea: “I think I’ll meditate at night while I’m going to sleep!” Maybe I’ll wake up energized instead of startled, with more answers instead of questions, with less thinking and more inspiration...do you want to try it too?
