My Journey Towards Financial Independence

Hi, my name is Ron Smith and it's been a long rough rocky road in my journey towards financial independence. I started selling on popular auction sites and online classifieds. A business associate and I even invested big money in a license to start our own auction website with ad submitter software integrated into it. This was a great idea, but I had to move on and start developing my own marketing system because of the increasing use of the captcha by classified sites.

I began moving in this new direction by building my own Debian Linux web server which is now finished and working great. My web server project was an overwhelming success. I am now using it to host multiple websites and to mask and redirect my affiliate links. I have several Wordpress sites installed on my web server including a WooCommerce web store.

If you don't have your own web server, you can promote your affiliate or MLM business on a blog with Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. This is necessary because some social media sites block affiliate links. And so, you will place your affiliate link on your blog and then promote your blog post or page.

Another problem is that masking affiliate links don't always work right. What I end up doing here is looking for an affiliate program that has my back covered. What I mean by that is when someone visits their affiliate site they must have a sponsor to sign up. No one is allowed to sign up without a sponsor and so you will have no lost commissions. Don't get me wrong I love and use the products from several MLM companies I just find it hard to promote some of those long, ugly and bad affiliate links. And my affiliate link still shows in the browser's address bar after masking it sometimes. And so for now I'll just promote certain specific affiliate programs as mentioned above.

However, I will soon be using facebook ads to market my Wordpress web store because I'm aware that it's a good way to promote physical products. I really do love the facebook pixel. It's just amazing! And I'm currently taking the facebook blueprint marketing course for a better grasp of the whole concept now that I have updated my web server and have more time.

For now though, I am successfully promoting my affiliate links on online classified and social media sites using the basic strategies mentioned in this article. I am constantly discovering new marketing ideas and methods while browsing the web and testing them on my web server.
