Department of Defense Awards TranzactCard with Patriot Award
The U.S. Department of Defense honored TranzactCard with the prestigious Patriot Award in recognition of the company's exceptional support for military personnel. The award was presented during a special ceremony held at TranzactCard's Global Headquarters on December 22, 2023. Co-Founder Peter Rancie graciously accepted the award from representatives of the Department of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program, including Randy Edwards, the National Vice Commander of the American Legion.
TranzactCard earned this distinction for its unwavering support of Army Sergeant Benjamin Watson, a Guardsman with 11 years of service. SGT Watson, who specializes in Communications Management, expressed his gratitude for the company's understanding and encouragement of his military commitments.
"I am very grateful to work for an employer that is so accommodating of my service," said SGT Watson. "Whether it's a monthly drill, annual training, or other unit assignments, TranzactCard and its leadership have been tremendously supportive and encouraging of my service."
The ESGR, which aims to foster understanding and cooperation between National Guard and Reserve members and their civilian employers, highlighted the vital role that companies like TranzactCard play in supporting military operations. According to Vice Commander Edwards, the support from employers is crucial in retaining Guard and Reserve Service members, thereby enhancing national security.
"The recognition of TranzactCard with the Patriot Award demonstrates the impactful role businesses can play in supporting the nation's military framework," stated Vice Commander Edwards. The award serves as a beacon for other employers, showcasing the significance of corporate responsibility in creating a supportive environment for those who juggle civilian careers with military service.
Co-Founder Peter Rancie emphasized the company's commitment to supporting military personnel as an integral part of its values. "We look forward to continuing this tradition of support, providing flexibility and resources to our service member employees as they patriotically carry out their military duties," Rancie added, solidifying TranzactCard as an exemplar in championing the well-being of those who serve the nation.
