CLEANING YOUR HOME IS KILLING YOU!!
Did you know that according to the American Lung Association, that cleaning your home can be hazardous to your health? Many household products or cleaning supplies can cause headaches and other health problems, including cancer, or can become irritants to the nose, throat or eyes.
Some products release dangerous chemicals, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Bleach and ammonia don’t escape the list either. Even natural fragrances such as citrus can react to produce dangerous pollutants indoors.
Cleaning supplies and household products containing VOCs and other toxic substances can include, but are not limited to:
• Oven cleaners
• Air fresheners
• Chlorine bleach
• Dry cleaning chemicals
• Aerosol spray products, including health, beauty and cleaning products
• Furniture and floor polish
• Detergent and dish washing liquid and
• Rug and upholstery cleaners.
In an effort to rid our home of harsh chemicals and find solutions to the innumerable health issues that we all are experiencing today, I’ve partnered with an online Wellness Company that started its journey over 34 years ago. Their products are in fact a bit better than what is on the shelves in local stores, but that only speaks to the fact that what is sold to the population on a daily basis is nothing short of poison.
I have made it a point to live a proactive, preventative lifestyle rather than to accept the gamble of being diagnosed myself. Cancer is not only a killer, but it is a thief as well. It steals loved ones and the time we should have had with them. Unfortunately, you and I cannot speak to even one person that hasn’t been affected in this way.
But the question is, what do we do about it?
The battle is fought in our homes, in our cabinets, our cleaners, our fragrances, our refrigerators. Friends, it’s time to educate ourselves.
You don’t have enough money you say?
We all find money for things we deem priorities, but the good news is that you are using the same money you would use to buy these harsh chemicals, but now you are just switching stores. Disease is expensive. Far more costly than caring for the one body and life that was given to us. It’s teaching and empowering our children how to live a proactive lifestyle. It’s taking control of our health instead of accepting whatever hand we are dealt.
This post is an attempt to share what I have learned in the hopes that others find the same empowerment.
