Tricksters In A Bottle Won’t Clean You the Right Way

Mineral build up happens quickly. Dirt attracts more dirt. Instead of getting clean the scalp gets another layer of buildup that includes additional oil pushed out after the previous wash, dry skin flakes, salt from sweating, styling products, and conditioner.

See? Genius. It doesn’t matter what shelf you’re buying your products off of. Whether $2 for Suave or $45 for Pureology, what you’re paying for is a stripping agent. The accompanying conditioner is designed to coat your scalp and hair with silicone to make it feel soft. 

A stripped yet not-exactly-clean clean feeling, and a soft lie. It’s a vicious cycle that leaves us less than happy with our hair and resigned that our hair is “just the way it is.”

My favorite product from MONAT is the Clarifying Shampoo. Not all clarifiers are equal. I’ve tried many. What I can buy off a shelf hardly puts a dent in the mineral buildup from our well water. The minerals would win every time and a little more hair would fall out and refuse to grow back.
