The Big Ask
Many of us in an MLM company find ourselves cowardly shying away from doing the very one thing that makes us money and that's "The Big Ask." We join our respective business opportunity by spending X amount, yet when it comes to sharing it with others, especially those closest to us, we're like a dear in the head lights, frozen. How come you ask? Could it be uncertainty? I reckon fear is certainly a component, however there's likely only two outcomes we can arrive at, yes or no. There you have it, so what keeps us from running through everyone we know? Yup, the big NO. Isn't it incredible how one small word can reck one's self esteem in an instant if you allow it. The key would most likely be to expect no and keep on going because thanks to a little thing called the law of averages, it's ONLY a matter of time before someone says YES! Now what's a matter with that concept? You might not have many friends or family left to ask and they might think of you being in "ONE of those Pyramid things," or "PONZIE SCHEMES." Sure you can get caught up in what everyone is saying, however how is what they think of you or what you do helping you pay your bills or more importantly setting you up to win? Right, at the end of the day, if it's going to be it's up to me is the best way to get over worrying about what others think.
The big ask is the one thing most successful marketers do to be where they are, sure some will use attraction marketing or other new age concepts, but belly to belly has been and will continue to be how business gets done. If you are feeling stuck, and simply cannot bring yourself to keep on keeping on then I suggest you plug in. Much like our cell phones, our battery has to be recharged so to keep at it, and once you're equipped with a goal, a plan, a strategy, and the willingness to keep going then friend you're well on your way. Simply put, if you continue to ask people to join you, or buy from you, you'll eventually get better presenting your product or service, and dealing with objections and before long you'll be on stage at your next big conference sharing your story and giving them the encouragement necessary to succeed in their business opportunity or MLM Company.
As long as you're willing to approach enough people with the big ask, you may realize it gets easier, and less sounding rehearsed and more natural. This is why I like my MLM Company. Thankfully most Multi Level Marketing Companies produce quality products that work, and hopefully has worked for you so to provide you with a personal story or testimonial. Of course when you're new at network marketing, you'd wise to listen and remember other people's stories so to tell it to those you're prospecting till you develop your own. I believe a good story that resonates well far out weighs all the product knowledge you could stomach remembering anyways. So when you develop "The Big Ask," be sure to do it often, and to precede with a story that peaks your prospect's curiosity just enough to say, sure I'll give it a try
