WOMEN PUT ON AVERAGE 168 CHEMICALS ON THEIR BODIES DAILY

Almost 13,000 chemicals are in cosmetics and only about 10% are evaluated for safety even though the FDA has the authority to regulate harmful ingredients in our personal care products! WHAT????!!!!!

The FDA tells the companies producing these products to ensure their safety but doesn't require any proof of testing that demonstrates the safety of the products they are manufacturing. 

What does this mean for health conscious people like you and me? When you are using shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, makeup, lotion, etc. you are potentially putting chemicals in your body even if the product says "non toxic".

The average woman uses 12 personal care products every single day that contain about 168 DIFFERENT chemicals! Men use fewer products but are still exposed to an average of 68 different chemicals daily! And teenagers use even more products! An average of 17 different products daily so they are exposed to even more chemicals!

The Environmental Working Group tested a group of teens and they found 16 different hormone altering chemicals in their bodies including parabens and phthalates. That is unacceptable!

Most makeup products contain lead, beryllium, thallium, cadmium and arsenic. Arsenic? This is ridiculous!

Some of the most toxic chemicals found in cosmetics are parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, phthalates, methylisothiazolinone (MIT) and toluene. Google any one of these chemicals and you find a slew of information about them. None of it good!

I could go on and on with the different tests on different products that have been done but they can easily be found online by Googling "chemicals in personal care products".

So, what can we do about this problem? I have a young daughter who will be coming up to the teenage years very soon and there is NO WAY I will be allowing her to use any of these products. I have now replaced absolutely everything in my house that I once bought at the grocery store. Cleaning products, makeup, lotions, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant etc. I NO LONGER purchase anything anywhere else and I feel so much better that I am providing a safe, chemical free household for my family.
