Network Marketers, This One Thing Is Sabotaging Your Business!

When I started in network marketing, I was told to keep adding friends to my Facebook friend’s list. I was told to randomly friend request people in the hopes that they would add you as a friend. On Instagram I was told to randomly follow people in the hopes that they would follow you back.

I eventually learnt that this was not the right way to build your business! This is called spamming and intruding. Why would you follow someone just so they could follow you back to sell something to them with your sales post? Who even says those people would be interested in your business or what you have to offer?

Amateur vs Professional

As far as I am concerned and though this may sound harsh, it has to be said. Only amateur marketers do that. I do not blame them because I was once an amateur and learnt from other amateurs.

I did not learn how to build my business professionally until I invested in a marketing course which was the best thing I could do for my business.

It completely changed how I promoted any opportunity and as a result boosted the sales in my business.

Self-Sabotage

Another reason you do not want to build your business that way is because you are letting yourself down. Do you know that when you mass follow people you are reducing your relation score on these social media sites? Therefore, you are self-sabotaging your business because the owners of those sites will penalise you. The penalty will be that your posts will be shown less often to those same people that you are following. You will have to work ten times harder for your posts to be seen. It is simply a time wasting exercise.

Why You Want To Build An Email List

The best way that you can build your business effectively, and I emphasise effectively, is by building an email list. The reason why you want to do that is because your subscribers belong to you. Facebook and Instagram do not belong to you and can do whatever they want to you. So those penalties that you are facing is one of the things that you will not find with email lists.

90% of people still open their emails compared to just 75% which use social media. Email marketing is also more popular than social media marketing according to Optin Monster.

What I like about email marketing is that I can take my subscribers with me. If you break the terms of service with Facebook or Instagram or any social media site, you can lose your followers quickly.

Top brands are using emails to connect and build relationships with their subscribers. If you are not building your email list then you need to start focusing on doing that now.
