3 Signs it's time to become a travel agent
So, you've heard about becoming a travel agent and you just don't know if it's right for you. Well, I can tell you, being on the money making side of travel is right for just about anybody. Here's 3 signs you're ready.
1. You're already doing the job. If you love to travel, book your own travel, post pictures of your trips on social media, give reviews of the restaurants and attractions you visit, and give advice to your friends when they are booking trips, you need to be getting paid for what you are doing! All of those things are literally my job description as a travel agent and there are so many people that do those things for free! Suppliers like Carnival, Expedia, Delta, American Airlines, and Disney have travel agent commissions built into their vacation package prices. If you book your own travel without a travel agent identifier, you are giving that commission amount back to the company. Get your credentials as soon as today and have that commission routed to your bank account.
2. Working from anywhere with wi-fi, whether it's at home or from a resort in Jamaica, is important to you. Are you interested in time and space freedom? Do you want to decide when you work and where you work? This is a huge perk of becoming and independent travel agent. You're able to book vacations for your clients and make money from anywhere that has a computer and wi-fi connection. I even take my own hotspot so I don't have to worry about wi-fi availability. If I have a cell phone signal, I can book travel.
3. You want to learn the insider secrets of travel. Did you know there are companies that only work with travel agents? As a travel agent, you get access to these companies -- along with their packages and pricing -- for your own travel and your clients. You also learn a lot about how to travel better, and the secrets of how to save money when traveling.
