Six Months Into My Network Marketing Business And I Have Not Promoted Yet

I know what it feels like. I have been there.

In fact it took me a little over a year to even promote to the first rank in my company so that meant that I spent a year of chasing after people, cold messaging and cold calling people and pretty much begging them to join my team.

Not to mention recruiting people and then have them do absolutely nothing. With network marketing it was a hard task to motivate and encourage people who just did not get it.

I could not understand why people would spend money, join a company, then do absolutely nothing in it.

I suppose not everyone was as motivated as I was and I had to understand that I could not encourage everyone.

I Grew Tired

To be honest the first year of my network marketing business was the most exhausting.

Then as time went along and the team that I had built up collapsed, I felt I needed a break. I couldn’t believe that I built a team over a year and just like that it collapsed under me. I felt like I had wasted an eternity and I had to start again.

Of course the natural thing to do was to feel sorry for myself and get discouraged but I was so determined to live the life of my dreams that I looked into other ways of earning an income online.

Time For A Change

That’s when I stumbled across my current mentor who was boasting of earning thousands of dollars online and I was intrigued to figure out how he was doing it.

For months I had looked at him but I never believed in his income claims but somehow as I was discouraged from network marketing, it made me look a little bit harder at what he was doing.

And that’s how I started affiliate marketing.

Affiliate Marketing vs Network Marketing

Affiliate marketing is similar to network marketing but the only difference is that I did not have to build a team. All I had to do was promote a product, refer people to it and get paid a commission when they purchased that product.

What I liked about affiliate marketing was that the commissions were bigger payouts compared to network marketing. In my network marketing business I received a 9% commission and in affiliate marketing the commissions I receive go anywhere from 50-75%.

I also did not have to convince a team to work. I worked on my own and simply showed people how to do what I did. That was more rewarding.

I realise that network marketing is not for everyone. People want a bit more freedom of time rather than having to build a team and they want to be rewarded more generously.
