THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION: MY FRIENDS THINK I AM INSANE
Someone predicted the emergence of tele com industry many years ago, many thought he was insane and insulted him. Worst is, he was bondled to psychiatric hospital for rehab.
Today, his prophecy is fulfilled. Everyone has handset talking to people from different locations anywhere, any time. Trans Atlantic communication is now possible.
What was the effect of the tele com revolution on unprepared entrepreneurs? Bankruptcy! They fold and went home.
Post office business was gone. Some transport companies were gone. So many manual information service agencies packed and go home.
In Oko community, where I studied, I saw a post office been used as poultry to grow fowls and pigs, because no one brought letters there from year to year. You need to see grasses!
No one believed such a revolution would come.
Today, I am talking about Digital Marketing, and everyone thinks I am insane.
In my previous post about Digital marketing, some entrepreneurs were disappointed in me. I could read how stupid I am from their comments. But thats ok.
The reason is that they are currently making big money from their normal traditional businesses.
And to them digital marketing is impossible. Thats ok too.
Well, recently, I have been aggressively studying economic trends. I found so many shocking revelations.
1) Google "Strange Hotel" in Japan. In this hotel, no human works here. Everything is done by robot. Little wonder Bill Gates raised alarm that robots should start paying tax since they are snatching peoples jobs.
2) I found out that we now have digital complimentary card. No longer the little tiny beautiful business card you have. Soon, what happened to post office will happen to printing press industry because of digital printing.
3) I discovered that the Almighty "drone" has now been converted into social services like delivery jobs. The Jumia guy will no longer bang at your door to deliver products or the pizza guy will no longer show up. Anything you need, just order online and close your eyes and open, drone is in your house with it. If I want to buy shoes for example, I order, and the delivery agency will send drone in seconds to my location.
Then what will happen to those entrepreneurs who have shop inside market? The same thing that happened to the entrepreneurs who were dealing on film video cassette winner many years ago. Lol
Well, a scientists just predicted that soon there will be traffic in the sky because of drones and other flying demons coming to replace normal manual economy.
4) Have you seen the new deposit machines in some banks now? These machines collect money from you, count, record and issue you receipt. In fact, have you seen the new ATM machine that doesn't use ATM card. All you just need is go there with your phone, type few codes and see that beast vomit your cash within seconds. Hmm ATM, deposit machine and now cardless ATM machine. Meaning one day you will enter bank and see only 3 persons- the gate man, technical engineer and yourself.
5) In London, driverless cars are everywhere in the city. One taxi driver was crying in an interview that soon he will loose his job.
6) In Bill Gates school in US, no one uses pen or paper or marker or chalk. Everyone uses computer. Sometimes, I heard, teacher doesn't come to class and yet he delivers lectures. They say one insane computer projects the teachers image on the the board and everyone sees the teacher from everywhere he is.
7) Have you heard of E- Proscription? Electronic prescription. Well, Google it. This app gives you exactly same service a doctor will give you. Meaning, bye bye to hospital jobs.
8) I am sure you know about e-commerce. Guys like Amazon, Alibaba, Jumia, Konga, Jiji etc. Theses guys are not joking with you at all. They are coming with both anger and tremor ( iwe na Onuma)
9) oh, I nearly forgot the news agency. Journalists say "hey". Bad news is no one is buying newspapers again. And very few listen to news on radio or TV. We are all in social media. We get every gist here even before the journalist appears at the news scene to cover story.
10) Haven't you heard of Uber? Soon no one will be standing at car packs waiting for buses. Uber is circulating like virus now.
Let me stop here for want of space. For those calling me names, ndeewo nu. I can't forget a poem line I read in secondary school "God, if madness nurtures such lucidity, make me mad, make me even more mad"
A great man said "The future belongs to those who see possibilities when they are not obvious"
My advice is: if you know a school offering Digital marketing, sell everything you have if possible and gain admission. Life is going to give you more shocking surprises than you can possibly imagine. The world has taken a nightmare pill. If you're not prepared, you will be highly disappointed.
See you in the other room!
