My name is Elinita from Outlook Saskatchewan Canada. I'm originally from Philippines, happily married and blessed with two awesome boys. We landed in Canada year 2014 through my sister and brother in law sponsorship in Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. Both me and my husband work in Government offices for more than 13 years back home. I work as Accounting clerk in the Local Government and my husband is Statistician in National's Office. Aside from that we owned and operated a tailoring and dressmaking shop. We live in a decent and simple life when another opportunity came across. Canada is the place that most people want. I can't refuse it. I still remember in my young age that I wished for a white Christmas, so Canada is a dream come true to me. Besides going together with my family is a bonus. So we decided to leave everything and start a new life in my dreamland Canada.

Life is not easy as what we are expected in the first two years of adjustment. Finding job related to our career and experience is so aloof. So we move to other town to find a better job, far from my sister's place. I worked in Group homes as Personal support worker but working night shift is draining me, thinking of my family at home and those sleepless nights. I applied and was hired as bookkeeper but in just two months I decided to stop, working 9-5 a day in a week is not suited for me since I have my 7 years old son that time. I need to accompany him going to school and pick him up after school. I tried to apply in the Bank and in the Admin Office of the store where I'm working now but same problem exist its not fit on my schedule either. Then finally I decided to work as Bakery/Deli clerk that's the only work that suited for my time as a busy Mom because they offered flexible time. I am so happy to have flexible time in my work that I can adjust not to conflict on my husband's schedules. As a parent I want to make sure the needs and safety my son because he is the big reason that we decided to migrate to give him a better future. We embrace our new life and start to settle down, get a house and vehicles.

Then another blessing came after 10 years of waiting. A new member of the family...Our new bundle of joy... He came unexpectedly! Yes .... 10 years gap from my eldest so its absolutely surprising. But the problem is I need to stop working to personally take care of my little one. I need to give up the promotion offered by my Manager to be the Supervisor, and I'm not able to work as full time anymore. I'm worried that I will lost my job and lost the chance to get the higher position. But I know God has a better plan for me. I'm still bless that my company gave me the schedules that will work for me as a part time employee. So no worries to leave my little one to stranger and having peace of mind in the sides of my kids and witness every milestones in their lives is priceless. But cutting my time means cutting my earnings, and the sad part is the increase of expenses as my family grows. So I'm looking for something to do while staying with my kids to help my husband. Then amazing opportunity came across while scrolling my news feed a no cost workshop about digital business.
