Yes, that's real copy from a current sales letter. 

I almost couldn't believe it. This is straight out of the Marketing Morons To Avoid file. Or maybe the Soon To Be Charged By The FTC file. You pick.

How in heck are you going to force someone to buy your offer? 

Even if you could force someone to buy what you're selling, would you really want to?

I hope not. That kind of attitude is what gives marketers and salespeople a bad name. If that's your attitude, you deserve a bad name. 

Here's another one.

"... you'll have people begging you to let them join!" 

Gimme a break. 

You may have lots of people that really want to be a part of whatever it is you're doing, but begging you? Begging you to let them give you money? Begging you to let them in? 

I'm not buying it. 

Side note. If you ever do get an email from someone who is actually begging you to let them send you money and join your team, please shoot me a copy. I'd love to see it. But I really don't want a loser like that in any group of mine. Jeez.

Have I ever turned away a customer that wanted to buy one of my offers?

Yes. 

But let me assure you it is NOT easy - especially at first. 

It's very difficult... dang near impossible... to turn down a paying customer at any time. It's even worse when you're desperate for a sale.

You know what I'm talking about. After you've been at the marketing game for a while, and nothing is working, and you'd practically mug someone's gramma to get some money?

Hang on. I'm getting off track here.

The point is...

If you're anything like me, you're sick to death of all the BS and hype surrounding whatever the latest, greatest, Guaranteed To Make You A Millionaire By Next Week - In Your Sleep! crap the goo-rue of the week is touting. 

That's why I don't engage in it. 

In fact, I've been accused of trying to talk people out of buying what I'm selling. 

Because I'd rather you didn't get involved if it isn't going to work for you. 

But the only people it won't work for are the ones that never do anything anyway. They buy all kinds of stuff, toss it on a shelf or under the bed, and then go whining for a refund when checks don't magically appear in their mailbox.

You may have done this. Don't feel bad about it. Everybody has done it. Even me. (gasp!)

But not anymore.
