Getting To The Top in Your Life

In life, everyone wants to get to the highest level, be it in career, politics, business and even in religious attainment. In as much as everyone wants to get to the top, how many people are really willing to pay the price to get to the top of their game?

The top is ready to accommodate as many people as possible, but very few are really working or ready to get up there where it is considered a place for the "big players" or the "big boys".

Wishing and acting are different things all together. When you wish without acting on it, it becomes wishful thinking. But when you wish and work towards attaining your wishes, it becomes acting it.

What really makes the big players or the big boys different?  The big players or big boys are just regular people like you and I. However, what makes them different is in their actions and the price they are ready to pay to make their dreams come true. No price, no prize!

The big players are:

1. Set goals and work toward achieving their set goals. Many people set goals but how many really follow them to the end? It is not just enough to set goals, but working diligently to attaining those set goals is what set you apart from the crowd. It is what makes you to reach the top of the ladder of success. It is what gives you the classification of the "big player" or "big boy". 

2. They are not deterred by rejection. The big players and the big boys have learnt to ignore any form of rejection and focus on their main goals. Many of us are easily put down when people reject our ideas or suggestions. We prosecute ourselves of even trying in the first place; thinking we are no good and shouldn't be doing even what we believe in. If you fall into this group of people, I have something to tell you - out of 10 or so things you are pursuing, not all those things are meant for you. Those that are meant for you, you will succeed in them, those that are not meant for you, you'll learn from their failures and move on to greater things.

So, if you are in network marketing and your prospects seems to give you a cold shoulder, move on to others. Because, as many as are saying "No" to you, there are many out there who are waiting for you to say "Yes" when you finally approach them with your offering.

3. Focus. Focus. Focus is the watchword of the big players. The side attractions does not deterred them to their actual goal. Is like you are pursuing a big contract job and somebody bring a offer that seems too good to be true and is actually is! Many will dump the actual thing and follow what they are not sure of thereby loosing what is actually superb. The big players/big boys learn the act of sniffing out distraction and focusing on the "real deal". Can you beat that! 

4. Persistence - the persistency of achievers cannot be question. Given up is not part of their dictionary. They persist when others are given up. They believe in what they believe in - helloooo! Even if you don't believe in them, they believe in what they are pursuing and won't just give up just because you don't believe in their vision.

I have a friend in school those days, he will draw up images of whatever kind and began to tell you stories you can not imagine. He express his vision with so much passion and zeal, backing up with profitable figures to buttress his points. Many of us never believe him. We just look at him as an overzealous fellow. Must of the students started avoiding him. To most of the students, he was a "mad" man who see things that doesn't exist.

It was not until I left school and began to read wide, not just to pass exams but to expand my understanding that I began to see into the future with my mind like our friend in school. Few months back I met my friend at a workshop in which he was a resource person and I a participant.

After the workshop,  I approached my old school friend and we later had lunch together at Sheraton Hotel. He is into estate development and has a lot of investment in the tourism sector as well. Thank God I didn't envy him as I discover myself long ago and has established myself strongly in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
