Here's my story. I originally joined Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1986 as a savvy shopper. My engineering career took me to work at dawn and brought me home after the malls were closed at night, so Mary Kay provided a way for me to shop from home for high-quality skincare products. I fell in love with the sisterhood and camaraderie and earned several company prizes as I worked my business on a very part-time basis. One year I had just returned from a week-long family vacation to Disney World, only to discover my brother was getting married overseas in 6 weeks and I needed roundtrip airfare, lodging, and meals. So I scheduled a skincare class and made the money in one evening to pay for 8 days in Europe.

I worked the business for 12 years and then took 10 years off due to family issues. When I returned, I built a new business in Mountain Maryland and went on to be the first car driver and first sales director in my county. Then I went thru the second set of family and medical issues and stepped down from leadership and became a savvy shopper (purchasing the product wholesale for myself at a 50% discount, but not marketing the product or recruiting).

In January 2021, I decided to pivot and start working my Mary Kay business. I went from zero team members in January, to 16 team members today and now am in qualification to be a sales director again. My goal this time is to share the knowledge I gained from being part of the company since 1986 and a customer since 1981 and the lessons I learned about life in general as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, employee, manager, director, and chief technology officer. When I built my business before, I did it for my minor children (one who was learning to drive). This time I'm building to empower women and build retirement income and a legacy for my family.

My vision to have a unit of pink car driving consultants that are willing to follow me to the top of Mary Kay Cosmetics. My senior sales director, future national, and their sister sales directors have earned multiple cars during this US pandemic, so I know the system works and I am following their footsteps.
