This is a very common idiom in the English language, which means to stop wasting time and effort on a task or issue that is already concluded, resolved, or hopeless.

9. Take your first step: Remember that it's okay to ask for help and seek support. Try to focus on small steps you can take to improve your situation, and be gentle with yourself. There is always a way to bring about positive change, even if it may seem difficult at times.
