Flexibility is the cornerstone to success

Flexibility in the workplace is a growing necessity for both employees and employers. Changes in technology and the transformation of paternal and maternal roles in families are two critical areas that have led to more flexibility in the workplace.

The typical employer has always looked favorably upon the flexible employee: the worker who doesn’t complain about the need to work longer hours, someone who doesn’t object to varying shifts, the person who willingly picks up the slack of a co-worker who is often absent, etc.

But what about the highly productive employee who does an exceptional amount of work but due to childcare or other issues, cannot always be on site? Or, the physically disabled employee who has more knowledge than anyone else in the company but can only work within the home environment? In many cases, even in today’s more flexible workplace, those people would be unemployed.

Flexibility is a good management decision, but not all managers are open to operating any other way than the traditional eight-hours on site workday. Companies that allow employees flexibility to arrange an untraditional work situation—whether it’s telecommuting, flexible hours, swapping weekends for work days, etc—generally tend to have less turnover and more stability. Nonetheless, although being flexible is proven to be a win-win situation, not all companies maintain a culture of balance and respect for employees. More often than not, the hierarchy is clear: the employee must adhere to the traditional standards of a nine-to-five routine.

On the opposite end of the spectrum to an inflexible, traditional work routine is network marketing. It may not appeal to everyone, but flexibility is the cornerstone to network marketing’s growing popularity. Especially for the younger generation that is newly entering the work force, flexibility is not just a commodity, it’s a necessity. Rather than having to show up to work at a specific time and leaving also at an agreed upon time (if in a position of having to clock in and out, there is little leeway), the network marketer works on his or her own personal time—in other words, you’re the boss, so you choose to work as many or as few hours as you desire.

If you are the workaholic type who is driven to do as much as possible, the flexibility of network marketing virtually guarantees you success. No one is going to tell you to stop working (or to clock out so you don’t incur any overtime charges) except yourself. Going strictly by the numbers of probability, the more people you approach and talk to, the more likely you will build a wider and deeper organization.

If you are basically laid back and like to take things easy, go with the flow, as it were, network marketing also virtually guarantees you success, as long as you don’t quit. When you keep at it, slowly but surely, at your own leisurely pace, your easy-going approach will garner you a loyal clientele who trusts and believes in you. It’s one of the most interesting facets of network marketing: the shyest and least pushy sponsors often are the most successful.

Regardless of which category you fall into (most people are in between the workaholic and the laid back), the key to being successful with LifePharm is two-fold: Be flexible and never quit.
