How Are You Driving Traffic to Your Site?

I think one of the most frequent questions I receive is, "How do I drive a lot of traffic to my website?"

I know when I hear that question, I understand where the person is coming from because at one point in time I suffered through the frustration of getting hardly any traffic to my opportunity.

It goes without saying, no online business is going to become successful without a ton of traffic.  So what I'm about to share with you is for the newbie as well as the experienced veteran in getting loads of traffic.

So here are some tips, that have worked for me in getting a lot of traffic to my website.

First order of business is...

What kind of site are you sending them to?

The answer to that question can make or break your traffic getting efforts. I can tell you right now, if you're trying to send people to the website your company gave you (better known as a replicated website) you're killing yourself right off the bat. Although you may think it's a great site and it might look incredible, you will receive dismal results.

Why?

Because your company's replicated website most of the time goes into what the company is about, when they started, the compensation plan, and the prospect has to scroll down to read a lot of it.  People don't want to do that because they are lazy, plus they could care less.  People want to know what's in it for them. How can THEY benefit?

And here's an important point.  We now live in a "microwave" society. People want what they want yesterday. They also have short attention spans.  So you send them to your fantastic replicated company website and they get there and say, "What do I do now?"  To YOU, it's obvious.  They should just read right?  Read how wonderful my opportunity is.   Read how much money you could make with my opportunity.  READ DAMMIT!

And guess what?

They don't.

Some will scan the whole site or not at all. And not comprehend a *#/~&% thing!

I was told a long time ago, "A confused mind, always says no!" And that's what your prospects says...NO!   No to your site and thus NO to your wonderful life changing opportunity. You're asking too much of the prospect. I know it's sad aint't it?    But all too true today.

Where you should be sending them is to what is known as a "Landing Page", some refer to it as a squeeze page.  This is a simple one page website with maybe a nice pic, a catchy headline or bullet points, and above all else an optin box that asks for their name and email address and maybe even their phone number.  That's it!  Here's an example of one of mine ==> htpp://www.DitchThat925.info

See how simple that is? The visitor doesn't have to scroll down anywhere. And the headline either captures their attention for them to receive free details or they move on. And that's all you want. To fill what is known as "Your Funnel" with interested prospects names and email addresses.

Again let me reemphasize, the visitor/prospect SHOULD NOT have to scroll down to read anything. Everything should be "above the fold" as soon as they hit your site.

Once you capture those two things, you can now lead them to your replicated website with email letters sent through a mechanism called an autoresponder.

Oh, I didn't forget. So you have the proper landing page with an autoresponder attached to it (Aweber, GetResponse, TrafficWave, etc) but how do I drive traffic to it?

See the pic below...

landing page

That's right. You should be implementing at least five of the methods you see above to drive traffic to your landing page. Once source AIN'T gonna cut it my friend.  Hell, use all of them if you have to. But above all else, use them.   I know some of you are wondering why the advertising that you've been using isn't working...this is why. You don't have enough traffic streams pointing to your website.

And one more thing before I let you go. The link you advertise is also crucial. Here's what I'm talking about:

A person sees this ==>http://www.gorillamarketingpro.com?ref=a8itgreat
 or

this ==>http://www.NrollMoreProspects.info

Which link are they more apt to click on?

You should always make the investment in your business and buy a domain name and forward it to the ugly website address your company gives you. Everybody and they momma knows when people see that ugly link that it's an affiliate link that's probably going to cause them to whip out their credit/debit card.

And nobody likes to be sold.

That's it for now.
