When Is An Opportunity NOT An Opportunity? When You Don't Follow Through.

When is an opportunity not an opportunity?  Many would answer, "When it's a scam."  But I think we have to realize that many times we end up scamming ourselves by not following through with legitimate opportunities when they come our way.

I had an experience in this myself just a few months ago.  I got involved in the Power Lead System because I wanted to get my foot in the door with a legitimate home business opportunity that paid in USD that had been around for a few years.  I was just in the throws of watching some Bitcoin business opportunities go south, and I desperately wanted to reach out for a more secure opportunity.  I ended up joining Power Lead System and two other home businesses at the same time.  So, my attention was distracted right from the start.

Rather than go all in with the Power Lead System, I spent time browsing through Power Lead and the other two businesses I had joined.  I started to become so distracted, I was not sure which business really deserved my full time and attention.  So, instead of focusing on the most promising business, I dilly dallied with other things.  I wasted 5 months letting Power Lead System sit on my computer doing nothing.  Then I picked it back up again and realized I had just scammed myself out of 5 months of profitable business experience that I could have used to add to my family income.  What a waste.

I am amused now when I hear people say that one thing or another thing was a scam because they themselves did not make any money with it.  I then have to ask, "Did you work the system consistently,  or just let it sit on a shelf?"  Many times it becomes obvious that the person failed to make money with the program because they failed to implement the program.  Success in anything is never assured.  We have to do the work needed to succeed.

I now see legitimate home business opportunities the same way I would see a traditional full time job.  Just because you got the job does not mean you will succeed with it.  If you get hired with a good company, and then call in sick your first 3 or 4 days because you just don't feel like working,  you probably will not hold that job for very long, and you surly will not be making any money.  When you get a good job, you then have to work it.  And the same goes for MLM Business Opportunities.

Yes there are scams out there.  But we also have to be mindful not to scam ourselves by not following through once we find a good opportunity.  Sometimes we can get distracted and focus on the wrong thing at the wrong time.  Being a successful entrepreneur takes discipline and being a self starter.  It also requires taking appropriate action (even MASSIVE ACTION) to get the business started.  When we get on board with an opportunity that looks good and is good, we owe it to ourselves to FOLLOW THROUGH with that opportunity.  If we do not, then the opportunity fails to be an opportunity and we end up scamming ourselves out of a profitable enterprise.  Not a smart move, albeit an all too common one.

Jaye Carden I like your points made in this Ralph. Letting time pass, and not giving a opportunity your full attention is the real scam in itself!  5 years ago
