Just Meet People and Your Business Will Grow
It is so important for the success of a Network Marketing business, or any business for that matter, to meet new people. It is unfortunate that so many people that come into this space have so much difficulty with this skill.
Many years ago when the business model came alive with the likes of Amway, you had meet new people to grow your business. A person would present their opportunity to close friends and family and attempt to branch out into the networks of those closest to them. This is the same model the life insurance business model ( of which I was a part) still uses today.
And yes, this model still works today in the Network Marketing arena. Why are so many of us reluctant to do something that is so simple that actually works? This is a topic for another article that I will write soon.
This article is simply about meeting new people and it starts with a simple smile. If you simply look at people and smile, you are half way home. For example, when you are stuck in line at the grocery store and the lady in front of or behind you looks at you simply smile. Often, this alone will start a conversation.
The next step is to say something. The key is to make your comments positive. So don't say, "Darn, I hate these long lines." This, of course, is was most people say. I'm not saying you won't end up in a conversation with this tactic but it will not go in the direction you want to build your business.
Say instead, "What a beautiful day it is today?" or " Those strawberries look awesome. I love strawberries." The conversations you get here could go in all kinds of good directions, including finding a potential prospect for your business. Thin about this: If the line is long, you could have 5-10 minutes of undivided attention.
When you go into a 7-11 or other store, make honest positive comments to the staff like " I notice that you have a smile on your face and I like that." Or, "I like when someone seems to like what they are doing. How long have you been here?"
Start practicing these skill sets on a daily basis. Remember, that not all conversations will lead to you discussing your business nor do you want them to! You are looking for positive, friendly and like minded people like yourself.
If you are doing anything special that helps you meet new people please share below of maybe if write an article explaining what you do. I know I would be interested.
