5 Things I learned from Facebook Groups

Some things I am learning in Facebook business groups. I hope this list will be helpful to you as well. I have several pages and groups and love helping others build their pages and groups too.

Pages = People LIKE the page
Groups = People JOIN groups

Facebook groups have proved to a great way to build my online business. Facebook groups get me in front of many people at the same time. While building this way, search for groups key words such as: networking, WAHM, moms in business, business building, marketing and other related topics. Use them to build relationships and gain new facebook friends. I enjoy the groups that have one ad day per week rather than the ones that allow spam posts all day every day.

1. Read and follow the instructions on group posts. It shows character.

2. Do not spam your product on posts asking about another product. Integrity.

3. If another person from your company posts, support them with a positive comment rather than post your link too. Cooperation.

4. Share good business building info. Give rather than just promote.

5. Be helpful. Be the person others are drawn to rather than avoid.

You can make a difference. 

This method takes time and consistency and can really help. Create a facebook business page for your business first. Then as you are posting in groups ask members to LIKE your page. Like ladders and engagement pods can be helpful in building your following. I was able to get my baby store page to 27,000 likes. People will often LIKE a page before they will join a group.

Creating your own facebook groups can also be very helpful. I have one for prospects, one for my customers and one for my team. I also built my own networking group. Groups can help you reach a target market in one place you control. Be sure not add people to your groups without asking first. It is the number one thing that frustrates people. Ask first then add them. Provide good content in your groups that members will want to see.
