Should I Use A Script In Network Marketing?
Have you ever asked yourself the question "Are the scripts I am using in my network marketing business, helping me or hurting me?"
If you have wondered before, you are not alone. I as well were taught to use a script when I first began in network marketing, and never to deviate from it. I began believing I was losing people I could have gotten had I said my own words, or answered their questions in my own way.
So, I threw away the script, and if you want to know what happened next, then simply continue reading this.
When Is A Script Good To Use?
I am not all against using scripts in network marketing.
I feel using scripts on inviting people to presentations, or certain objection handling is the best way to use a network marketing script.
But, when it comes to closing, and building the trust of your prospect, this is when I feel it's time to be "you" and do not use a word for word script throughout the process.
One liners are what I like to call them, are best when scripted. They are used to prevent questions getting asked before a presentation has been seen, and can be best for helping with objections.
Other than that, I believe you are best off being yourself and finding a common link between you and the prospect.
What Happened When You Stopped Using That Script?
Oh yea, back to what came from throwing away the script.
While using the script, I did get a few signups. But, many were getting this "non-trusting" sound in their tone.
With a mentor on the other line with me, I did as he told, and tried to believe the script knows best.
Then, I figured it's my business, I'll do it how I want.
After throwing away the script and being more real with prospects, I seen a fast climb in the ranks. I sponsored 24 people into a $300 buy-in in less than 3 weeks. So the script proved not to be best for me, just as I believed after a few interviews with prospects.
