I HATE WHEN THIS HAPPENS

I used to get frustrated and at times really upset with many of the people I was trying to recruit into my business. How about you?

I don’t know about you, but I would take hours preparing my presentation and then I would practice for days presenting my company presentation in front of my imaginary audience of eager prospects. Heck, I would go as far as recording myself. How about you?

I remember sitting in front of a whole bunch of people explaining how great our products are at their homes or at restaurants. The funny thing is that the prospect would agree with everything I’d say. Okay, maybe not all agreed but the majority did.

To avoid complicating my “perfect” presentation and confusing the prospect I never spoke about the comp plan but I did talk about the potential of making lots of money. I’d take out my trusty company brochure and pointed to people that were making six figures or more. I couldn’t forget about the company itself. I would explain the credibility and strength about my company. A grand slam presentation!

I ended with a big enthusiastic smile that said, “How could you say NO to that incredible, powerful, fact-based presentation?”

And yet…

Zip! Nada! The majority of people did the unthinkable. They said NO!

I knew that the product or the company had nothing to do with their “NO” decision. Maybe they were either skeptical about what I was saying or they lacked belief in themselves. As crazy as it may seem, many people are just content with their situation, even if they are drowning in debt and living paycheck to paycheck. Sounds pretty nutty right?

But here’s what I learned… YOU CAN’T CHANGE PEOPLE.

Why? I don’t know. Do you know? By the way, does it really matter?

I do know that there are only a small percentage of people out there roaming around this planet who are tired of being average and are willing to change their lives. These are the people you want to connect with. And guess what? They are out there.

You have two choices. (Actually you have three.) First, you can spend months or years looking for them, like I did. Second, you can have them looking for you. Third, you can do nothing.

Stop “banging your head against the wall” chasing people like your family and friends and get quality people to come to you.
