Play It Right
I don’t listen to a lot of music.
Most of the time when I’m driving, I’m listening to marketing podcasts or audio books I get from Audible.com. I highly recommend Audible. I’ve listened to dozens of books that I never would have taken the time to read.
The other day something reminded me of that song “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers. In the song, the Gambler advises a young player “If you’re gonna play the game boy, ya gotta learn to play it right.”
Good advice for any game ya wanna play.
Take marketing for instance.
Most people spend a few years wasting time and money before they finally give up and throw in the towel.
Why?
Because they haven’t learned to play the game right.
They’re in a game filled with people who have no idea what they’re doing claiming to be “coaches” or “mentors” or “gurus” when the only thing they know about marketing online is what some other wannabe posted in their Facebook thread.
It’s a sad state of affairs.
