Advertising on a tight budget
There are several ways to advertise when you have a tight budget. Word of mouth, ads on free sites and flyers. Advertising is always a question of who do you want to reach? Do you want to reach a local market which is great for word of mouth and flyers but what if you want to reach a long distance target? How do you do that does not require you pay exorbitant costs for ads? You can try free ad sites but take from my experience this can be time consuming and create little results. Ad results are all determined by timing, wording and viewership. If you don’t get them all right you will never get the results you want.
I have a great option to getting people to talk to you and that is with a travel discount card. You use a blank thank you or gift card, put on the inside info about your company, then with a little silicone glue you attach your gift card and then hand them out to people. People are more likely to take the card and stop and look at it and ask you what it is especially if you tell them it is complimentary of then your name and the name of your company than they are if you just hand them a card by itself as they have no idea what it is for.
By telling them it is a complimentary gift from you and your company you are giving yourself an opportunity to talk first about the discounts they can get from the card for hotels and then about your company. It is always a good idea to also have brochures on hand as well to give the person to give them more information about your company.
Brochures can be expensive to get printed but you can do them yourself. If your company does not have ready available brochures you can design your own. Yes make your own. To make a brochure you need to think about brochures which have caught your attention. What did you like about them, what was it that caught your attention? Then you need to put together information about your company that you feel is simple, eye appealing and an attention getter so the person will want to ask you more about your company and or products.
There are templates available to use and these are very affective and I use them all the time. There are bifold or an 8 ½ inch by 11 inch page folded in half across or a trifold which is a page folded in 3 both are great it just depends on how you want to put your information on the paper. Always remember the last thing to put on your brochure is your contact information and this is nice if put in a box so it is easily seen.
Cards take time to hand out but I want to tell you they are effective and can bring you another source of income while you build your present business income. Look at these figures you pass out 500 cards a month cost $100 potential income $50,000. If one person uses their card to the max it pays for the cost of your cards. If you were to get one IBO ($75) from those cards it would almost pay for your cards and you will as well as long term members. It will take a few months to get people travelling but they will and when they do you will get 50% of the value of the card or $100. When people go to validate their card the website then gives them the option of becoming an IBO or staying a member. When people see they can make money as an IBO and simply give out cards and make money that is usually what they sign up as because everyone knows people who like to travel and make money.
