Simply put, Gold has a value because people think it has value and use it as a unit of exchange, the value is determined by the demand for it as the total amount available is limited and can not be manipulated to neither increase or decrease.

it is recognized and accepted as "pure money" worldwide and can be used by anyone to acquire anything because people think and agrees on that it has a value. It is a result of people knowing that they can exchange gold for any product or service, with anyone they want, at any time, because they all value gold due to a mutual understanding and knowledge, they all know they can use it again.

It is a source that is not controlled or issued by any government or bank and anyone can participate in extracting or owning it if they desire to.

LET'S LOOK AT CRYPTOCURRENCY

Cryptocurrency is often backed by nothing (bitcoin has no backup) although it have value because people think it has value and use it as a unit of exchange. The value is determined by the demand for it as the total amount available is limited and can not be manipulated to neither increase or decrease.

Cryptocurrency is recognized to be a commodity in the US, an asset in Europe, and already "pure money" in Japan and will in the future be the preferred choice of payment method. It will be a result of people gaining knowledge and understanding of it, knowing that they can exchange a specific cryptocurrency for any product or service, with anyone they want, at any time, because they all value it due to a mutual understanding and knowledge, they know they will be able to use it again.

It is a source that is not controlled or issued by any government or bank and anyone can participate in extracting or owning it if they desire to.

Now to the real question, how did gold become globally accepted as money (as no government issued it or told us it was money) and how will we make SWISSCOIN just as accepted?

Simply by understanding what it is, sharing information and educating those who don't know, establishing the demand by adding value to the network and users besides the cryptocurrency itself.

It is limited, it is desirable, and it is mutually agreed upon by us, the people who use it and not by any government, what it's value is and that it is our preferred method of value exchange peer to peer, it is free will..
