If you are like me, you have been around the block a time or two when it comes to Home Based Businesses, Direct Sales, Network Marketing, MLM, etc. You may have been burned a time or two as well. I sure have! 

But every once and a while, though, a company with the right products, the right management team and the right incentive plan will hit the scene. The key is, how will you know they are going to last the long haul?

Well, there are plenty of signs of a successful product and a successful company. But you are going to have to take the time to discover this for yourself. 

Here are some starter questions you should know the answer to: 

1) Is there are product or service being used or consumed?

2) Are the products/services desirable to the masses?

3) Are the products/services reasonably priced for the representative and their customers?

4) Has the company been in business for at least 3 years? 

5) Does the company have a professional, attractive website and marketing materials? 

5) Is the company in good standing with the Better Business Bureau? 

7) Is the compensation plan fair and balanced? 

These are just a few of the questions you need to seek the answers to when you are looking into investing your time, talent and resources. Never jump into something just because "so and so" is doing it, or because you don't want to get left behind. Believe me, if the company is so "hot" it will be around before, during and after you have completed your due diligence.

You also need to evaluate your particular skill set:

*Are you good with people, both on the phone and in person?

*Are you willing to invest ample amount of time and money into running a business?

*Does your family and/or friends have a positive, supportive attitude?

These are questions only you can answer, but you must truly contemplate them all. 

Personally, I have been involved with many, many companies over the past 3 decades. Some good, some not so good. Some still in business, some gone by the wayside long ago. The good news is I have a company that fits the bill for so many people.
