Fear or Faith Which do you choose??
Have you ever noticed how babies have no fear. I am always watching my grandchildren grow. They do not seem to have any fear until something actually happens. The other day I told my grand daughter to stop playing with the door on the entertainment system and she did not listen , and she ended up getting her fingers smashed in the door. She screamed really loud because she has never experienced that kind of pain before. Now she will not even open the door anymore.
I had a good friend who was always talking about loosing his job. He lived in day to day fear and always spoke about how he was going to be one of the casualties at his company because they were making changes and laying off hundreds of people. Well, three weeks after he told me about the layoffs I get a call from him and sure enough he was one of the people laid off. I often wonder what would have happened if he focused on staying employed.
Are we afraid to talk and share our business opportunity with others because we feel they may reject us?
Are we afraid to ask our boss for a pay raise for fear that he may say no?
Are we afraid to learn a new skill at work because we may fail and look dumb?
I was afraid to learn a new skill at work because it looked really hard and complicated to learn and I figured I could never do that shift. I told my co-workers that was the shift I dreaded the most. The next month my boss scheduled me for that shift....Yuk!
I began learning the skills to master the tasks asked and I got really good so now the shift is really easy for me.
We must act in spite of fear not because of it. If we are afraid to step up to the plate we will never hit a home run.
