Chase the Skillsets & Responsibilities, not the Rank

Have you felt you were "stuck" at a certain rank for a long period of time?

Unfortunately, too many network marketers feel this way. They wonder why they are in the same spot they were last month, or 90 days ago. This is often due to chasing the rank, rather than chasing the skillsets and responsibilities.

So what does it mean to chase the skillsets and responsibilities?

It means understanding that network marketing is a profession, and until you have become a professional and developed the necessary skills, you will stay at the same spot.

What are the skillsets needed to hit the first rank in your company?

1) Inviting

You need to have the correct system of daily presentations that you can invite people to. These presentations can be hosted by your sponsor or a sideline friend, or someone else in the company. You should have a simple system to invite to these presentations. The important aspects of a perfect invitation are:

  • 1. Be in a hurry: "Hey Richard how's it going? I'm amazing as well, listen I'm about to hop into a meeting so I can't chat for long..."
  • 2. Clear the schedule "what are you doing tonight at 7 pm?"
  • 3. Add value "Ok amazing, so I just launched a new project partnering with some successful online entrepreneurs and I'd love to get your feedback on it, can I count on you to be there for a 20 min call at 7 pm?"
  • 4. Take it away "awesome, here's the link, I'll see you then, bye!"

2) Edification

Edification is the process in which you introduce your prospect to your mentor. It creates trust and respect between two people. This is what you use to help move from Invite, to Presentation, to 3 way call. This is how you would start your 3 way call.

Let's say your sponsor is Brian, and your prospect is Sandy.

"I'm so happy to be introducing the two of you today! Sandy, we have the priviledge of having Brian on the call today. Brian is a busy individual but I told him about you and he's excited to meet you. Brian is an incredible mentor and someone that's been there for me throughout my journey. He's always available to answer my questions and help me be set up to be successful. Over the last few years he's helped hundreds of individuals  create a better life for themselves and their families, and he is truly a servant leader. Now Brian, we have Sandy on the call with us. Sandy is an open minded, kind individual I've had the pleasure of working with at my job. She's someone that is ambitious and hard working. Her favourite part of the presentation was residual income, and she's excited to hear more from you and get her questions answered. You are both in great hands. I'm going to pass it over to Brian now, and put myself on mute in the background."

Now, the two individuals have respect and trust for each other, and Sandy can be in a great position to get started that day.

3) Using the products & product knowledge

You should have a great knowledge of how your products help people, what is the benefit, and the advantage of the product. Use this formula and fill in the blank: our products have this "feature", which allows you to "benefits", which means that "advantages"

In this way, you can make sure you're sharing how your product truly helps others, and more so, you are building your own story and testimonial with the product, that you can share with your prospects. This is key.
