The TOP 10 TRAVEL destinations....

1.New York City, NY... This is one of the top destinations to travel for the holidays. Visit Rockefeller Center and see the Christmas tree as well as St. Peter Cathedral. But the Christmas window decorations on the store fronts on 5th avenue are just amazing. You will literally find yourself walking block after block in amazement. You also have Radio City Music Hall just around the corner from Rockefeller Center where you can see the Rockettes do those high kicks in unison. Don’t forget to visit Times Square and take in all the signs, sounds and delicious restaurants in there area.

2.Italy... Take in this country’s history Roman style by visiting Rome. Go to the Colosseum and see how the gladiators fought. Stop by and visit the Pope at the Vatican City. See “The Key” which is St. Peter’s Basilica. Its a wonder in itself. Take a tour through the Vatican Museum and gaze at the Sixteen Chapel. The artwork will leave you speechless. Rome is full of things to do, so enjoy the churches, fountains, historical sites, food and of course the coffee and wine.

3.Spain... Ahhhh who doesn’t love Spain. The flamingo dancers, delicious tapas and I must not forget SOCCER. These are just a couple of things to start off with. This is one of the most passionate cultures I ever experienced. The Spanish people have a love for life and it expressed through their art and architecture. Barcelona is known as the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region. It’s one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and its also known for art and architecture. Some sights to visits during the holidays are Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Casa Mila, Gothic Quarter Barcelona, Casa Batllo, Montujic and plenty more.

4.Swiss Alps, Switzerland.... If you are a avid skier I already know this is on the bucket list of places to visit. Enjoy the mountain views and feel the elements on your face as you zoom down the slopes on skies, snowboards, snow mobiles or on sleds. Some of you who don’t take to the slopes can live that ski lodge lifestyle or doing some shopping in town.

I know you are probably wondering. I didn’t leave home to vacation somewhere that’s colder than home. I want a warmer climate please... OK, the next 5 destinations are warmer.

5.Mexico.... There are two spots depending on what you would like to experience in Mexico. San Miguel de Allende is a city that celebrates Christmas by having festivals, re-enactments of Mary and Joseph pilgrimage to Bethlehem, singing, shopping and more. If you are looking to relax and lay out in the sun. Cancun, Mexico can provide that relaxing atmosphere you desire. There are plenty of things to do, places to see and restaurants to eat and drink.

6.Honolulu Hawaii.... Is located on the island of Oahu. Its a laid back vibe. No one is in a rush. Island folk are the most friendly people I’ve encountered. There are so many sites to see. Go to the Pearl Harbor Memorial and see the ships and remember those who fought and died for our freedom. Head over to Waikiki neighborhood its the center for dining, nightlife and shopping and do not forget the BEACH. Take a stroll to KoKo Head Botanical gardens which is located within a volcanic creator. Must attend a luau, go to the Polynesian Cultural Center and the Dole factory. The Hawaiian coffee is way better than Starbucks and you must take some home with you.

7.- 10. Caribbean - There are so many islands to visit during the holidays. San Juan, Puerto Rico is one of my favorites. Despite being devastated by the recent hurricane San Juan has recovered. Go visit Old San Juan walk the stone streets and shop at the boutiques. See some of the history sites and the Rum factory. The food, night life and those beaches are excellent. Caution: wear lots of sun screen. I got burnt while swimming in the ocean. The people are very friendly and the policia are extremely good looking. LOL! Bahamas is another popular getaway. If you are a family there is lots for kids to do. If you are stay at the Atlantis Resorts they have all sorts of activities catered to kids. Take an excursion to Cast away island , swim with the fish, go to an private island and eat a chef prepared meal, night life for parents, game room for the kids, and more. Jamaica is the last popular spot for a Caribbean getaway. Stay at an all inclusive hotel if you are a couple and require that adult alone time. If you are a family there are resorts that cater to kids. Take a excursion to Negril to do some diving and snorkeling or see the falls. Enjoy the nightlife and dance to the reggae music. Take a guided tour to one of the many sites and its a must to make a pit stop in one of the small towns and eat grandma’s home cooking. Jamaica’s culture is one of friendly smiles and pure relaxation.
