The reasons why I am ecstatic about the Wealthy Affiliate Program!
It took a long time but finally I have discovered an affiliate program on the Internet that I can make money out of and which doesn't reek of that dreaded word 'SCAM'!
A bit about me. I was made redundant from my 'day job' in 2000 from a company that I had worked for over a period of 19 years in a senior management role. Upon being retrenched It did not take long for me to appreciate that at the ripe 'old' age of 53 there were very few employers out there who were willing to take the chance of employing somebody at my age no matter what skills I had earned over the years. There was no problem getting temporary menial factory jobs which paid me a pittance for the few hours work that was on offer but no chance of even been granted an interview for a similar management role that I had previously enjoyed.
Frustrated in my job search endeavors I turned to the Internet to look for an affiliate program that had the potential to replace the lost income in my previous 'day' job. What an eye opener that was! It seemed to me that the promoters of most affiliate programs were only interested in taking your hard earned money in monthly fees for promoting what often turned out to be scams. The day would come when you tried to login to your affiliate account to discover the program no longer existed and the promoters had also disappeared off the face of the earth!
I finally discovered my 'crock of gold' last year when I read some very encouraging reviews of the Wealthy Affiliate Program and decided that I would have to look into it.
The first positive sign I noted was its longevity when compared with other affiliate programs, many of which had failed. Here was one which was still going after 12 years in business and which had 850,000 current active members! A definite plus in regard to longevity and size of member base!

Being impressed with what I had seen so far and noting that I could join the program for free I decided to sign up in December 2015. The first thing I did was to establish my FREE website in my chosen niche using the excellent easy to understand tutorials that were provided. At the same time I decided to network with senior Wealthy Affiliate members whose experience I was able to draw upon whenever I encountered problems in establishing my website.
After a few months with my website set up and having made a few posts to it I decided to upgrade my membership to premium to take advantage of the many extra benefits that were available to me as a premium member. The excellent training that was available to me as a premium member and unlimited support from the program owners and senior fellow members was soon instrumental in my website getting top rankings on Google for my chosen keywords.
As a result I started attracting good organic traffic to my website which in turned started to earn me income from the niche products I was promoting. In addition as I was also promoting my Wealthy affiliate link as a separate exercise I earned affiliate commissions from the premium members that signed up on my Wealthy Affiliate link. My income from that source now exceeds my monthly affiliate payment and I am well on track to eventually replacing the income I previously earned in my 'day' job.
