A lot of people wonder why so many people who start a home based business can’t seem to find success. The truth is that 90 plus percent of people who start their own home based business fail. One big reason for this is simple. Most people think that their products and their business are so spectacular that all they have to do is join and success will come to them. That is a mistake. If you truly want your business to succeed, you have to spend some time getting educated and to find a system to use.
If you look at anyone in the industry who found success, they don’t just have a business, they have a system that is set up to handle a lot of the work for them. That system includes an up to date training and a plug and play way to prospect. It should allow each representative to invite, present and follow up. It also should not be expected to do everything. It should allow you the ability to infuse your personality. It has to be simple, solid and it has to do one major thing. Build trust. Not a false trust, a real honest to goodness trust with everyone that evaluates.

1. You Don’t Have to Start From Scratch - a tremendous advantage to have something that is ready to go and all you have to do is get plugged in. This can save save you six months worth of work or If you build one from scratch, it will take a great deal of testing, tweaking and updating before it will give you the results you want.
2. You Need It For YOURSELF - Before you can ever lead a Team in your MLM Business, you have to take care of yourself. Frankly though, unless you have a business plan that you will stick with consistently, you will waste a great deal of time. The most important reason that you have to have a system is to keep yourself on track. Most people start their business with none. It’s like taking off on vacation without mapping out the route?
Maybe you were so excited when you started your business you just didn’t even think about it. That’s like jumping in the car and speeding down the highway, with the intention to follow the rest of the traffic and read the road signs as you go. That might work for a while but what happens when you hit construction? Or traffic is re-routed by an accident? Rest assured, that will happen in this industry.
You will be bopping along and all of the sudden…BAM. Landslide. But one person’s obstacle is someone else’s opportunity. When you’re following a System, you will be able to adjust your plans and THRIVE while everyone else is stuck in traffic.
3. You must have a plan in place so that your leaders will have a blueprint. If you follow a good System for long enough you will gradually build a team following. Your Team Leaders will look to you for guidance. Let’s face it, no one will ever follow you EXACTLY. But just as you likely developed or learned your System by modeling successful mentors, your Team Leaders will need you to be a mentor for them until they can stand on their own two feet.
Here is a common misconception - The number one reason that your upline will probably give for following a System is duplication. I’m going to give you some hard truth here. Complete duplication on a large scale is a myth. 97% of the people in your organization will NEVER duplicate you unless you get very good at using a system. Those people that duplicate you are the leaders, they will model your tendencies. If you take action, they will take action. If you sit back and watch, so will they. Even most of them will not duplicate you to a T.
That’s why first and foremost your System is a plan of action for YOU. Second, it is a blueprint or framework for your action takers. Gradually your best leaders will develop their own systems that fit their personalities, but they have to have somewhere to start.
WARNING - Many a dream has been DASHED sitting around expecting a System to magically take over and lead to mass duplication. If you intend to be successful with a home based business, then your expectation should be that YOU continue to recruit and build. YOU continue to follow the system that is in place. That YOU always look to improve. If you do that, your best leaders will eventually follow your lead, but never expect your downline to get you across the finish line, that is up to you.
It is easier, if you become a leader as soon as possible and you develop as many leaders as you can. Bottom line, leaders make money. But 99% of leaders are made in this business, not born. We make them everyday. That is the secret to residual income. The more leaders you can create, the more work being done in your business. But remember, you can’t create a leader if you have not been taught how to be a leader yourself.
